Thoughts on Methos and The Doctor...

Like River Song, in my verses Methos has encountered the Doctor in the wrong order. It's long been established in my brain that he met Seven and Ace first, in ancient Egypt (though the exact timing tends to bounce around a little, this being something I should probably consult a friendly Egyptologist about) and then Five in not-quite-so ancient Greece not long after he met Siannon O'Niall (probably just after she buggered off and abandoned him to run after an itinerant musician). I always wanted him to meet Eight as well as Nine (in my brain it's Methos who was responsible for putting Nine in his leather coat), but nothing ever really clicked in my head until I got my 'War Doctor' figure in the post today (which has an extra head - a short haired Eight). I can imagine Methos in one of his hermit phases being the sort of person a pacifist Doctor who really didn't want to fight might go to visit to gain a measure of peace during a war not of his own choosing. Maybe Methos taught him how to knit... Doesn't matter what time period as I'm sure the TARDIS would always be able to find Methos.

Don't hold your breath waiting for fic about Eight and Methos, though - I'm going to be picking up City of Delusion again first. Having said that, Methos has always been a pushy muse as is the Doctor if he thinks he should be in a fic...

methos, highlander, doctorwho, fic-babble
