Last year I... 2012 fic roundup
From a fic writing pov, 2012 will be remembered by me as the year I had a hand in writing something that had over 1000 hits by the time the final part was posted - a week after the first part! It will also be remembered as the year I totally failed to write ANYTHING for consci_fan_mo for the first time since its inception, which was disheartening as I love the fest.
In total I've posted around 30k words of fic, I can't give an accurate figure as it's difficult to estimate exactly how much of Hearts Filthy Mess was mine and some is part of my wip City of Delusion.
There is one, somewhat startling, incontrovertible fact about the fic that has been posted this year that can be summed up in one word...
SHERLOCK.
No Highlander crossovers, no Merlin, no Torchwood and no Who.
In fact, if it wasn't for szm making a comment in passing about Lestrade and Murphy, there would have been nothing *but* BBC Sherlock fic so yay szm for inspiring the only (AFAIK) Dresden Files/Sherlock crossover on AO3 (and despite it being a wip it's doing quite well in terms of hits too).

Undisclosed Desires - 2,203. Wherein I stretch my Sherlock wings for the first time and find I have a soft spot for John/Lestrade. AO3 or LJ
February
Sex and Paranoia - 8,268. This has the dubious pleasure of being my 140th fic, it's also the first adult rated het fic I've written in over a decade. Takes place in the same AU as Undisclosed Desires. AO3 or LJ
May
Hearts Filthy Mess - 10 k ish of 13,049. An Aussie and a Texan were having a perfectly sensible conversation on the Sherlock kink meme friending post, when it was hijacked by a mad Scouser with a penchant for wanting to dress up Sherlock and Lestrade (that's me btw). The rest, as they say, is history. So far the fic has over 4000 hits on AO3 and I think over 2000 unique views on ff.net. I don't think I've ever had so many people look at something I helped write!
