End of the Day

Jack stared after the departing figure of Methos long after he’d ceased to be visible, part of him wondering exactly what he meant to the ancient immortal. It never seemed important when they were together, and somehow Methos always managed to skirt round the issue, usually by distracting him one way or the other. Jack sighed; ( Read more... )

The whole thing here, the interaction and conversation and atmosphere are very nice.

he smell of coffee and hair gel and life. That's absolutely my favorite part, though.

*sighs happily*

I love the way Ianto tries to explain Methos to Jack here. It's the one thing in the highlander universe I always thought a bit harsh, eventually you WERE going to have to fight and kill your friends. But jack and methos never will

The fact that Ianto was a Watcher prior to Torchwood in this AU is not something that I touch on that frequently, but it does mean that he understands immortals in a way that Jack doesn't, and won't for a while. I'm hoping to be able use the fact that both Ianto and Methos were Watchers at some point in the future *g*.

Also in this Au you can be reassured that there are still a bunch of immortals knocking around in 400 years! Including Methos of course. I've never tried to see beyond that.

And thanks for commenting.

The more I read your Ianto, the more I love him. And your Jack. (That I love your Methos goes without saying, right? :-))

And having finally actually seen all of S1 Torchwood, the depth and intricacy of your take on all the characters is just richer and more wonderful.

I hope the bunnies keep coming!

I loved Ianto as he was onscreen, but there just wasn't enough about him. Mind you, the gaps that Torchwood left in the characterisation just means more holes for us to fill! I love hidden depths in characters to be exposed slowly, and I've always liked trying to slot things as I see them into cannon without changing it overtly.

And what's not to love about Jack and Methos? It's a match made in heaven, whether they realise yet or not!

Thanks for your lovely comments.

I like that Ianto's mentioned Jack being an Immortal without the strings.
