It think it would depend on the type of church that was being renovated. A traditional medieval type parish church is going to take a lot more work than something like a late 19th century Methodist chapel. And also whether it was a ruined or mostly intact building.

There's some information on timescale here from people who have done church to house renovations http://www.homebuilding.co.uk/your-projects/converting-ruined-chapel

It also has one for stone church, church hall and weslyan chapel. With prices and time scales. It seems that around six months is the most common time scale for commercial projects, while people doing self builds took longer.

So six months to a year for the building works seems like an accurate timescale of what happens.

Six months works for me! Thanks for the link, going to have a gander now.

Went to the site and I found this which is the church hall where I used to go to brownies and guides, next to my old school playground. Small world!

I reckon six months to a year for your average church to home renovation, but for this particular project I'd imagine it would take a little longer (depending on what exactly will be contained within, and the need for secrecy - hiring different teams to do different jobs so nobody gets the big picture). Although, having said that, money really is no object so they could pull in lots of teams to get the job done faster.

And there's always the possibility of using retcon - on the mortals at least, I'm still not convinced it work on immies - after dealing with the more hush hush bits!

Good point! I've always gone with the idea that Immie healing will just repair any damage caused by Retcon - it is canon that Immortals can't get amnesia caused by physical injury - only psychological trauma - and I figure that Retcon falls under that category.

Siannon would use people she's known for decades/centuries and trusted to keep their mouth shut though, so that wouldn't matter.

I didn't think of Retcon because Gwen always seemed so against it that it's my canon that she's stopped using it now. (Except in Immie!Ianto land of course, cos she's not in charge there!)

I suspect that Siannon has access to retcon that Gwen doesn't know about, probably information given her by Ianto; she would also use it if she felt it was needed, no matter what Gwen wanted, and weather the storm afterwards.

From watching 'Grand Designs' most things usually seem to take a year to 18 months. And the windows are always late, way too early or don't fit.

Seeing as it's a business, I'm sure Siannon has a dedicated window person - probably someone who used to make them when the church in question was originally built, knowing her.

18 months is longer than I was hoping, but is definitely realistic!
