Fic: The Day After Never (part 2) Torchwood/Doctor Who [PG]

Ace had ensconced herself on the couch, and was scratching Myfanwy’s head when Jack eventually stepped out of his office. The winged dinosaur waddled toward him with an imperious croak.

“I think she wants you to say hello.” Ace said. She’d placed her gun on the table and put her feet up; she looked perfectly at home. Another croak brought Jack’ ( Read more... )

Thanks. I could just see Ace saying that so it *had* to be done.

Some fic related rambling and info... aeron_lanart November 21 2007, 11:13:36 UTC

The Dudley earthquake of 2002 was quite a big one for this country being measured at 4.7, it was the biggest onshore British quake since the Lleyn Penninsula one of 1984 that measured 5.4 (and scared the bejesus out of me in Liverpool). Strictly speaking it wasn't in Dudley either, but 2 miles outside of it.

There are tunnels under Liverpool in the sandstone that underpins the city, built by a man commonly known as The Mole of Edge Hill (Joseph Williamson). Some of them are even open to the public. There is info here if you want to know more. The thing with the tunnels is that no-one is really sure just how extensive the network is. There are also other things built underground in Liverpool, such as the HQ for guarding the Western Approaches. There's even a Cave under Matthew Street (home of the Cavern club and the Beatles).

They do make an interesting pair. I like the idea of Ace in Torchwood, holding the fort for the team.

Thanks for the comment. I'm hoping Ace muse continues to visit, she's good to write for.

That was great!

I was still in Liverpool in 2002 and believe it or not, I slept through the quake! I'm quite proud of that fact, actually. *grin*

I love the idea of a Torchwood in the 'pool, are you going to take it further?

I hope so, but I need to have a mooch around Williamson's Tunnels first, for research purposes you know *g*

*g*

Give Grove St a little wave for me when you do, I lived in the halls there for 2 years. Those tunnels are amazing, and the perfect place for Torchwood, excellent idea.

Wish I thought of it. *g*

The fact that no-one is entirely certain just how extensive the network is was just too irresistible to ignore. I'm a member of the 'Friends of Williamson's Tunnels' so we get access to areas that aren't open to the public yet every so often. Unfortunately I've never made a 'private viewing' yet.

Ace is awesome. It's kind of sad to think about her helping behind the scenes and watching the professor's back even though he's not really her Doctor anymore. ;_;
