I don't know quite what to feel about this. It's great, I liked it, but I'm torn between feeling happy that they have each other, sad that he misses Jack, sad that he's trying not to, angry at Jack for making him feel that way...well, there's a hell of a lot of emotions so well done for evoking that in 100 words! :)

Glad you like - and having an emotional muddle is entirely appropriate, given the situation. *g*

I've just realised that this is my 10th true drabble. *is pleased*

*is pleased for you*

I have no idea how many I've written... must be a fair few tho, because I won't allow myself to post it unless it's exact and I've done a few drabble memes and for TTH drabbles and Highlander100.

It's a great challenge, isn't it? I think that's why it annoys me so much when people write something 119 words (or worse 319 words) and call it a drabble. 99 or a 101 I can probably forgive, but only just *grin*

Oh I am so anal about drabble word counts! Got to be *exactly* 100 words according to word count. I don't trust myself to count properly, I get distracted too easily. I think I must have been a goldfish or a sheep in a previous life. Actually, I'm a sheep according to Chinese horoscopes so maybe that's my excuse.

I did find out one time that outside of sf/f and fanfic circles a drabble is considered to be a short fic of less than 500 words. I basically said 'not in fanfic, lady' but very politely. Like I said - I'm anal about the term. I think it's because it's so damn *difficult* to get to exactly 100 words that I feel vaguely insulted when people misuse the term.

Very nice! I do like the emotional conflict. Gentle but there nonetheless.

Getting emotional conflict into 100 words ain't always easy when you want to scene-set too. Glad you like!

It's not easy to do with more than 100 words, sometimes. But you presented a nice little package with conflict, scene, climax (*snicker*).

Kinda. But at least in my AU he wasn't waiting for Jack to come back on his own...
