It's fannish meme time again. I love fandom memes for some strange reason...

Comment to this entry and I'll pick up to three of your fandoms.
You must then update your journal and answer the following questions:1. What got you into this fandom in the first place ( Read more... )

Wow, 12 years in Highlander! :) (Though I'm sorry to say my exposure is limited, I do like what I've seen, and Duncan rocks the house!)

I've not always been terribly *active* in those 12 years, but I've always been there, lurking half-seen in the shadows only able to be found by those who knew where to look...

And then I started writing again and dived into Highlander fandom on LJ with a vengeance.

I'd vaguely heard the name before but never felt compelled to investigate until that fateful day! You have a lot to answer for (12 fics so far)!

Comment!

I'd love to read your take on Firefly, if you ever do take the plunge. Remember, I'm only an email away for beta/sounding board. And hell, if I can find their voices, I'm damn sure you can. :)

Red Dwarf (considering what we're doing in October, I had to choose it!)
Highlander (just because)
Discworld (picked at random out of the list I had left)

As for taking the plunge with Firefly, I kind of did a bit in that fic snippet thingy a while back even though they are both crossovers.

One Small Problem

I liked those a lot. Especially love the idea that Book knew the Doctor. Wonder if he has a fob watch...?

Now that *would* explain why he had such a change of heart and became a shepherd! It's not what I vaguely had in mind when I first though of him knowing the Doctor though. Hmmm...

Interesting! I guess I've been in Highlander fandom for just about as long, but it wasn't until 2003 that I started writing.

I love both the Dresden books and the series, although with the last book I hated the ending.

Haven't got the last book yet, I put it on my list of possible birthday presents for my family - along with a weevil, Ianto Jones, John Hart and B&Q vouchers...

If I do get it I think I'm going to have to read it in the blanket fort - or just re write it in my AU...

I don't mean the ending doesn't work, but it did want me to write an AU.

Ah Duende *sighs*

It came to me rather late in the day that the reason I was always dissatisfied with the Highlander fic I was finding when I used to graze for it was simply because it *was* Duncan/Methos (because I could slash them like crazy in my own head.) But I don't know... I think *pokes it* it was kind of like everything I found was like the majority of a lot of J/I

I avoid a lot of Highlander fic for the same reason though if something has been recced I might go and have a look. I find D/M just doesn't work for me, unless it's written in a rather twisty-turny fashion and I'll read Methos with anyone *but* Duncan by preference. Funnily enough I avoid a lot of J/I too, even though I do like that pairing.

I wish more people would write Jack/Methos!
