The NeLLy Concert!
Oh. My. God. It was awesome. I'm at a loss for words.
On Monday Megan and I got our hair cornrowed. Her mom's friend's daughter did it for us. I just got mine done at the top and Megan got hers the whole way. Her hair is super long, so it looked really nice.
Then on Tuesday we found out Nikki couldn't get out early, so she didn't do our nails. :-( My dad picked Lena and I up at school at 12:00, and Megan's mom picked her up, then we picked her up at her house at around 1:00. We did our makeup and then went to Wal-Mart to get cameras.
We got to State College at around 4:00, so we went to KFC and ate. We got to the Bryce Jordan Center at 5:00 and sat in the freakin trailblazer for 45 minutes. It was fun. We listened to Sweat and Suit the whole time. Haha There were these guys parked across from us, and we kept talking about how hot they were, and my dad was getting annoyed. Seriously. Hahaha Then we went to the door at 5:45, stood there in the COLD for a while, and they let us in at 6:10. I was glad, cuz it wasn't supposed to open until 6:30. We got shirts when we walked in. I got a black tank top that has a pink star and says Nelly ~ Sweat on it. That was $30. There were other shirts for $40, and wristbands for $10, and hats, but I don't know much they were. Anyways, then we got drinks. A freakin 20 oz. bottle was $2.50! I was like, "whoa." Freakin expensive. Then we found our seats. We were pretty close. I was happy. My dad had a better seat than all of us, cuz he got that ticket that was ordered by itself. He was like, 10 feet away from the stage! He got us lots of good pics.
Then at like, 20 minutes til 8 the concert started! These new groups sang, KO-3 and Camp Boys, and then they had an intermission. Then NELLY came on. Oh - my - gosh. I freakin CRIED! I cried. Yes. I cried. Lena and Megan laughed soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard at me. I could not believe I was standing in the same room as him! Breathing the same air, seeing the same things. You have NO idea. I can't even describe it. He's my IDOL. He wore a Penn State jersey, which I thought was pretty freakin awesome. He sang songs from Sweat and Suit, Ride Wit Me, E.I, like, 5 seconds of Tip Drill, Dilemma, Shake Ya Tailfeather, and a bunch of them. I was in HEAVEN. Megan, Lena, me, and these other 2 girls were the only ones who actually STOOD UP in our section and actually sang out and danced. Everyone else was like, dead, it seemed. Megan was like, "Haters shouldn't be here!" And we got weird looks. It was actually kind of embarassing. She's kind of loud. LOL Then all these people were crowding around these seats in the back, and so Megan and I went up to see what it was, and it was one of the opening bands, KO-3! Megan had them sign her cell phone and we got pictures with them. It was awesome. Lena didn't come up with us, because she didn't know what we were doing. LOL I think we got a little contact high cuz a lot of people were smoking weed and junk there. It was crazy. Then Nelly took his shirt off. O-M-G. I about fainted!!! Then it was over at about 11:00, and we stopped to get gas and some food, and then we took Megan home, cuz her parents were making her go to school the next day. Lena and I got to my house around 3:00 in the morning, and we just watched movies for a while and went to sleep at 6:00.
Wednesday, my mom took us to Wal-Mart to get our pictures developed at the 1-hour photo thing. They turned out pretty good. I was glad. Then we took Lena home, and I went to sleep at 5:00 and slept til 5:00 yesterday morning. I showed everybody the pictures and they were like, "wow." It was intense.
Today I wore my Nelly shirt, and everyone was like, "wow, that's awesome." And I didn't even get bitched at about it being spaghetti strapped. All our classes were shortened, except 5th and 6th (lunch periods) because we were having a pep rally. This week was our spirit week. In history 1st period, we went to the library to research stuff for our project, and I was looking at pictures of Nelly, and then Mr. H went by so I hurried up and maximized my Holocaust website I was looking at, and he was like, "It's okay Haylie, you can still look at Nelly, I'm leaving now." It was funny. Our pep rally was awesome. The cheerleaders did a hip-hop dance to a mix thing. It was really cool. The concert choir had to sing the Alma Mater, and we had to go out into the middle of the gym. Clint kept looking at me like I was an idiot, so I felt really dumb. Haha.
Right now I'm at my granny's house, and at 11:00 we're picking up Nikki and going to the truckstop to eat, and to see my ex-bf Rob, cuz I heard he works there from 11:00 til 7:00. Haha. I'm kind of nervous. Nikki was like, "why would you want to see that asshole?" And in all actuality I don't know, but we're going to anyways. Well, I'm gonna go now.
