So I have come to the realization now that I am completely useless in the morning at work until I have had my first cup of coffee. Ever since I brought my own coffee pot in I’ve become dependent on that first cup in the morning. This is all brought on by the lack of sleep. Lately the little guy has been waking up at least once at night due to his diaper being wet and/or his teeth hurting.
Thanksgiving was good. We went to Poplar Bluff MO. What’s in Poplar Bluff besides Will’s family? In a word… nothing. The place makes Moody look huge. It wasn’t all bad though. Alvin and Sara had a good time playing with all the other kids. Unfortunately it was all too much for Alvin and he ended up getting sick so we came back a day early.
So things have picked up at work lately. I’m back working overtime and starting to take over some more programs. So I’ve been really busy with things here. The last few weeks I’ve been working 10.5 hour days plus 5 hours on Saturday morning. It’s great that I’ve been so busy but I hate that I’m not home more. Luckily things slowed down a little last week and I was able to spend some time with Alvin and Will. On Tuesday night December 11th we took Alvin to the tree lighting at the hospital where he was in the NICU for the tree lighting. I think that might be a new tradition for us. Alvin got to meet Santa and really wasn’t impressed. He just wanted to sit there and play with his beard. Other than that he didn’t care. Later we were able to get some pictures of him infront of the tree. While we were doing that we met Amy George who founded the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund to help the NICU. Her husband played for the Channel Cats hockey team a while back and they both thought Alvin being born right after UAH lost to Notre Dame was pretty funny.
So tomorrow is my last day of work before I take off for Christmas and tonight we have hockey back in town. UAH plays Robert Morris the 17th and 18th and then I’m taking off the 19th through January 2nd . We will be down in Moody the 22nd through the morning of the 25th and I’m not sure what we are doing after that. I think by the end of this break Will is going to want me back out of his house so he and the boy can get back to their routine.
Oh and before I forget I finally got my program of study signed and filed with the department of mechanical and aerospace engineering. If all goes as planned I’ll be graduating in December 2009. I’ll probably walk in winter commencement but I’m not sure yet. First I just want to get through passing the classes then I’ll worry about what I am going to do about graduation.
So I guess that’s it for now. Its only taken me 2 weeks to get the free time to write this so I apologize if it’s a little hard to follow. Also if any of my friends in Moody want to get together while I’m down there please email me and let me know.
