Who Killed the Music?

So, I'm reading an article on the music industry today. Something I had noticed at a mall and had read in the article is that music stores are closing down big time. I went to a mall near my house that is definitely bigger then the one in Marquette. I walked around the mall and planned on buying a CD while I was there. The weird part was that all the music stores were gone. Also, the movie stores were also gone. The article points out that many chains have been closing their stores and going out of business. So I went to Target and Best Buy to buy CDs. Best Buy had a pretty big selection, but then again they didn't. They had mainly the newest albums by bands. Target was even worse, I couldn't even find soundtracks to movies that came out earlier this year or last year. I was highly disappointed, and walked out with a few CDs that were pretty cheap. I guess that's the trend new for lower prices. It was kind of sad to think that these stores that I used to be able to walk into and actually buy a Final Fantasy soundtrack are closed to make way for bigger A & F stores. I will occasionally buy something off of iTunes for the instant fix, but I'll buy a CD if possible for the fact that I can keep it. With most internet downloads, if you don't back them up and you lose the file then that is that. So I say for as many of you, go buy a CD when you can and keep that selection available. Otherwise, the top 20 could be the only albums you'll be seeing at a local Target.
