I just got back from an overnight trip with the choir to Yale. We were performing as part of the NCCO (National...Collegiate...Choral...Organization XIII? I think? Maybe?) conference, so we also got to watch some other choirs perform. They were all pretty good, although everyone I talked to said we were the best thing they had seen. That was a nice bit of ego stroking. Especially getting to sing somewhere as cool as Yale. I mean, seriously, these are some of the prettiest academic buildings I have ever seen. Most of them looked like castles and stuff.

But the best part of the whole trip was the FOOD. We had meals on our own the the whole time, but DAMN does New Haven have some nice restaurants. I ate at Buffalo Wild Wings for the first time...yum. Then there was that Ethiopian restaurant right across the street from the hotel, which was pretty bangin' (they had these things that looked like spongy crepes and tasted like sourdough bread. Apparently you're supposed to use them to pick up food in place of silverware). My stomach is going to go into shock tomorrow when I eat from the dining hall...

SO yeah, the whole trip was pretty fun. The bus ride wasn't, but that's mostly because I kept trying to lay down to sleep, and you can't really lay down across two coach bus seats, especially when you're over six feet tall.

cool stuff, life rocks
