SPN 7X14 "Plucky Pennywhistle's Magical Menagerie" rant
Plucky Pennywhistle’s Magical Menagerie... I haven’t laughed that hard in a while, thank you very much. The perfect blend of hilarity and ol school Winchester brotherliness - sweet!
These are a few of my favourite things;
+ Sam running in the opening scene. I got a little déjà vu from Yellow Fever at that but it was the good kind.
+ The sparkly opening. I love when SPN changes the opening in the funny episodes and the glitterbomb here was cute, and strangely foreshadowing the ending now that I think about it actually haha
+ Sam vs the clowns. Oh bb! You’ve fought demons, angels, vampires, ghosts, werewolves, THE DEVIL HIMSELF - And yet the old coulrophobia hasn’t let up a lil bit has it? For some reason, I think that’s rather adorable even though those clowns were making WTF all over the place. I couldn’t decide if they were creepy or just plain weird so I settled for some in-between. The fight was really well done, no wonder Jared said he was sore afterwards.
+ The pay phone scene. It was gold, Dean having to say “I am the Eggman” may have been the highlight of... my...life... and the “dick on Dick” line was perfect! I LOVE snarky Sam although he really got his comeuppance in this episode for being snarky...
+ No bars, no booze. I needed to bring special mention to this line because I’m glad Dean’s stopped drinking in this ep, I hope it carries on.
+ An octopus. Really? Death by octopus? Strange days are happening.
+ Sam in Plucky’s with the clowns everywhere. Poor Sammy, I was half-expecting him to fall to his knees and scream “whhhhy?!” and also, the bit when Dean asks if he was freaking out cos of the clowns was adorable. Sam sounded so very scared over the phone when he was trying to deny it.
+ More insight into Wee!chester lifestyle. Dean dumping Sam in Plucky’s to troll for chicks? VERY IC and suddenly I see where the clown phobia came from, that would scar me too.
+ Unicorns. HOLY CRAP!! That Unicorn had a rainbow coming out of his ass - Dean, you were right all along! My first thought was that it was a robot unicorn attack!
+ The Ball Washer - Oh Dean, you are SUCH A CHILD!! I missed you like this <3
+ Shark Week. Yes Sammy, how could you NOT watch Shark Week?!
+ Sam playing bad cop. He was so intense and so very pretty mmmm!
+ Dean and the kid. Haha! That kid was cool and his interactions with Dean were cute, especially the pizza bit. If Dean Winchester thinks your pizza sucks, then your pizza SUCKS!
+ Dean trying to reference Breaking Bad. Oh my boy but the lion guy was brilliant - shrooms in the ball pit is a priceless mental image.
+ Dean and his giant slinky. Ohhh, poor Dean! You go get that slinky Dean, I can just imagine him down the road in the passenger seat singing “everyone loves a sliiinkyyy! <3” whilst Sam gets rather irritated.
+ Right Friggin’ Now! I laughed so very hard at that.
+ No giant robot. I wanted to see them fight the giant robot. Wouldn't that have been incredible?
+ Glitter Sam. Oh God did I laugh at that and him spitting out the glitter after the clowns exploded around him. Brilliant!
+ Dean actually laughing his ass off. I MISS THIS!!! Dean, you should always be hilarious.
+ The clown doll. Dean, please stop scarring your brother. But when we just see it lying there on the road as they drive off, I was half expecting the car to suddenly reverse and run it over. I dunno why but the wink was quite cute, very fitting for the humour in this episode
TBH, I loved every moment. This ep makes up for my disappointment with last week’s episode because this week was pure joy. The boys were being their usual silly selves and we got a lot of laughs and some very requotable lines. I think my favourite thing in this ep, aside from obvious Sam whump was that Dean was getting back to his normal hilarious self. I'm really hoping it keeps up ^^
Also - I AM FUCKING GIDDY FOR THE NEXT EPISODE OF SPN!!! Have you seen the promo guys?!?! Oh man oh man!! <3
