I've got a job!
Yay, I finally got one! I got it through the temp service I registered with last week. I can't believe I got something already, and this is actually a temp to hire job, so I'll probably get to stay, unless I screw up horribly. I found out Friday that I would be starting Monday, which was today. I've been so busy preparing, I haven't had a chance to update my journal. I'm so drained from today, everything is so overwhelming. I'm working as a clerk in a law firm, so I do mainly computer work and filing - kinda like the library! The girl who's training me is really nice, but the programs I have to learn are tricky. But I'm thrilled 'cause I get my own desk and computer, so I can decorate my little area once I get settled in. I'm still working at the library, so it's nice to have some familiarity. This place is also really close to home, about the same distance as it is to the library - no freeways and no rush hour traffic to worry about. :-) I had a pretty good first day, though, so hopefully there will be plenty more to come. I already have stories to tell, too! But everyone is really nice there, and there are about 70 employees I'm guessing. So it will take awhile to get acquainted with everyone.
In other news, I had a great weekend. Jackie, Jackie and me went out for sushi and Chipotle on Friday night. They need to double their portions at Sakura, I could eat 3 servings of shrimp tempura, it's so good! We didn't feel filled up enough, so we got some tacos, which were not very good. Then Saturday we hung out at Jackie's and we got her computer up and running! Woo-hoo! Jackie, let me know if you need anything else. Then Sunday I went shopping for clothes with my mom and my grandma. It was employee discount night at Sears, so my grandma was able to save 30% on everything. Pretty sweet deal, even though I'm not a fan of Sears. Then tonight after work, my mom FINALLY got her new computer, which is different than the one she had ordered on Friday. She got this sweet gaming computer from COMP USA, so we picked that up tonight. Lately, my touchpad mouse has been acting up, so I bought this super-adorable desktop mouse and a mousepad to go with it. The mouse is so cute, it's tiny! I'm trying to get used to having it, I still reach for the touchpad most of the time.
Well, it's time for me to get to bed. I think the hardest part of this job is adjusting to a new schedule. It's going to be hard staying up past 12 AM on weeknights now. Tomorrow should be interesting because I'll be doing both jobs in one day. I'm going to be so beat when I get home at 9. I need to update this journal more often, too. I hope I have some good stories to share.....like the hot lawyer I work for. Haha, next time!
