He grew up Nicolas James Durham the Second; his father's name. He didn't want to bring in any personal resentment and say that his name was the only thing of value his family gave him, but there were definitely times when the sentiment brought a smirk to his features. He would answer to almost anything: Nicolas, Nick, James, Jimmy, Durham, and other variations of the sort. He preferred Nicolas though, like a person preferred a certain brand of soda-pop or chewing gum.
Nicolas grew up in your basic nuclear family: A father married to his work, a mother married to martinis, and a cat named Moses.
At least, that's what he told people when they made it a point to ask.
Perhaps the problem was that Nicolas's family really was abnormally standard, and walking the line had never been a habit of his.
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I got bored in english class and worked on character development. That's not all of it, just the bit I'm willing to share. I haven't written anything worth while in some time now, so I thought I'd share. Yeah.
Before you met me I was a fairy princess
I caught frogs and called them prince and made myself a queen
Before you knew me I travelled 'round the world
I slept in castles and fell in love because I was taught to dream. . .
