(no subject)
So I went to the hospital last night. Not a good start to the new year.
We went to Charlie's brother's where he bought $1000 worth of wholesale fireworks. At midnight he decided to basically lite everything in his garage. We were standing far away away from the line of smoke.
I turned to tell Charlie something and all of a sudden a spark landed in the inside corner of my eye. I was able to get the big ball of ash out, but when I looked in the mirror, I saw tiny lines of burned off skin. We immediately went to the St. Tammany hospital's ER. Luckily I was seen before I was even finished with the paperwork.
I should mention that today started the two weeks I DON'T have insurance (my work takes 30 dayas to start and my mom's ended in December). I called my parents in Grand Isle to tell them about it and my mom said just go ahead without it.
They put a dye on my eye and then broke out a blacklight that showed where the layers had been burned off. I have a "cornial abrasion" that has burned part of the first layer of my eye off. They gave me antibacterial drops that will help my eye to heal itself in three days... until then I can't wear contacts & the eyedrops hurt like hell. She did give me painkillers so I might fill that... or sell it, I haven't decided.
