Title: Who’s That, Baby?
Pairing: Kaisoo
Rating: G
Word Count: 3,312
Summary: Hello, little Taeoh~

If you ask Kyungsoo what makes him the happiest, his answer would probably not be among Jongin, poodles, sex, or kids. Oh, wait. One’s a probable answer.

Jongin? Kyungsoo just rolls his eyes.

Poodles? Maybe, he thinks.
Sex? Hell no.
Kids? Definitely. Yup, kids it is.

“Are you kidding me?!” Kyungsoo screamed over the phone. At this point, Jongin was debating silently in his mind if his boyfriend was actually excited or freaking pissed off with the person he’s on the line with. Kyungsoo was pacing back and forth across the room and in and out of the bathroom for calming purposes when Jongin woke up, and though his boyfriend’s brows were furrowed and his eyes were staring blankly wherever, Jongin was still undecided of what to think of how the elder was feeling.

“Soo, come back to bed. It’s still-“ He looked at the clock at the bedside, “three. God, Soo, it’s fcking three in the morning. Who are you talking to at this ungodly hour?” he muttered incoherently, dazed with the need to sleep and the constant movement of the other. He tried to sit up from the bed but didn’t anyway. He liked the bed better than dizzying himself in waiting for the other to stop in his tracks and get back to bed and talk.

“Fine, fine. I’ll open the door for you. I’ll send you the address, okay?” Kyungsoo excitedly muttered against his phone. This time, Jongin knew he was purely mental. A few seconds ago, Kyungsoo was screaming and now he’s excited as Janggu in his un-rubbed belly state. Succumbing to the sleep that was waiting for him, he closed his eyes again and hugged Soo’s pillow. He’ll just ask what was it about when they wake up, before he heads out to work later.

Suddenly, something heavy came crashing down on his oh so fragile body (Damn the weights Kyungsoo suddenly tried to work on) and he we was struggling for air.

“Baby, don’t sleep!” Kyungsoo murmured against his ears. “Wake.” Strong arms began to shake his body, “Up!”

Jongin, fed up with the lack of sleep and a somewhat persistent Kyungsoo on top him, he sits up, pushing the other but holding his arms on time before he was flying down from the bed.

“Oh my God, Jongin. You didn’t have to push me!”

“Sorry, I’m not a three-in-the-morning person, okay? When I was up you won’t answer me and now that I’m not asking you kill me before telling me what’s up.” He murmured, scratching his neck as a mannerism he picked up from his kids (Yup, weird.).

“Look, my dad’s taking his boss’ little kid here, and I have to babysit him for the day. That’s okay with you right? I’ll get paid, and I’ll be able to help my da-

“Told you already that you don’t have to babysit for anyone anymore, didn’t I?” Jongin replied. Kyungsoo huffed, frowning.

“I’m doing this for my appa. His boss needs a babysitter and for good grace he volunteered. I want to help him, please, Jongin?” Soo replied, batting his eyelashes forcefully, an aegyo erupting in three... two...

“Fine, fine. Be sure to tell the kids a friend is coming.”

“Yes! Thanks, baby! And make sure to greet my father nicely. He’ll pull me out of this hell hole if he finds you impolite.”

“Okay, I’m awake! Why didn’t you tell me your appa’s coming?!” Jongin stood up and was frantically running to the bathroom, closing the door and hit the showers, leaving a laughing Kyungsoo on the bed.

When Jongin was done deciding if he was prim enough for a meet-the-parents kind of day, he stepped out the bathroom only to find Kyungsoo snoring under the covers, hair sticking up in different places.

“Why didn’t I ask him what time they’re arriving?” He asked himself, putting on a fresh pair of boxers, diving under the covers and pulled Kyungsoo close.

After a good nap by the two, the sun was already painting the skies bright orange and blue, along with illuminating the couples’ room. Kyungsoo was first to open his eyes and check his phone, clock saying it was a little past six, and in thirty minutes, his dad would arrive.

He snuggled against Jongin’s chest and subtly tap on the younger’s shoulder, waking him up.

“Hmm... Soo...” Jongin murmured.

“Wake up. Appa’s arriving in thirty.” He whispered as Jongin pulled him closer and hugged him tighter. “Get up and give the three a good bath and I’ll prepare breakfast.”

“Okay, okay.” The younger sheepishly nods, opening his eyes and standing up obediently. Kyungsoo stood up, too, and head to the kitchen, making up something for them to eat, as well as preparing the three kids’ food. The three poodles were miraculously quiet that morning, walking around and behaving during their quick bath. Jongin noticed it, but was too perplexed for his visitor to acknowledge it.

The five of them munch on their breakfast at six thirty, absent-minded of the passing time until Kyungsoo’s phone rings against the hardwood table. He quickly accepts the call, and Jongin knew who it was.

“Yup. Straight ahead and then park in -“He stood up and walked to the nearest window where the porch can be viewed, “I see your car, appa. Yup, I’ll see you.”

Kyungsoo ran to the door to open it, waiting for his old man and the kid to hop out the car. Jongin took his time to relax while rubbing Jjanggu’s belly. When the poodle was satisfied and ran to his siblings, Jongin stood straight up and walked to Kyungsoo to greet the visitors.

“Hi, appa.” Kyungsoo ran out to his father’s arms. Jongin watched as the two talk animatedly, with Soo’s father ruffling the kid’s hair. The kid was about two, hiding behind the old man’s legs as Kyungsoo squats down to say hi. He had a sling bag wrapped across his little torso, shyly standing there in his shorts and snickers.

After a few moments, electricity ran through Jongin’s veins. Kyungsoo’s father was finally looking at him seriously. “Appa, don’t scare him.” He read Soo’s mouth as the three walks closer to him.

“Hello, I’m Kim Jongin.” He bowed and greeted. “Nice to meet you..”

The three kids behind him were already in a ruckus, wagging their tails furiously and running in circles, excited for the visitors. Jjangah starts barking and the kid was quick to hold the old man’s hand in surprise.

“Oh, you have dogs?” The old man asks, catching a glimpse of what’s behind Jongin. Jongin nods.

“I see. Just make sure Taeoh here doesn’t get any scratch, alright?”

“Don’t worry appa. The kids are well behaved.” Kyungsoo replied.

“Kids?”

“Ah, the poodles, sir.” Jongin interrupted.

Kyungsoo’s father suddenly laughed. “And here I am waiting for three kids to come out and say hi to Taeoh. Kyungsoo, you liar.” He joked.

“What?” the other uttered in shock. “God, did I tell you we have kids here?”

“You did. Two boys and a girl.”

It was Jongin’s turn to laugh. “Seems like he was talking about my three dogs, sir, but we get that a lot, for sure.”

“Oh, well, you youngsters call them weirdly. No wonder people think otherwise. Anyway, I hope is it okay for Taeoh to stay here for a while, Jongin? This is your home, anyway.”

Jongin shook his head quickly. “It’s okay, sir, and this is Kyungsoo’s home, too. Oh, please come in.”

“Let’s save that for another day, Jongin, when I’m with my wife. She wants to meet her boy’s boyfriend and I don’t want to spoil her by knowing you first.” He chuckled. “I have to go, Kyungsoo. Mr. Kim needs me back in the meeting as soon as possible. I’ll get Taeoh before nightfall.”

“Okay, appa.”

Kyungsoo’s father leans down to pick Taeoh up his arms. “Taeoh, this is Kyungsoo hyung, okay? He’ll take care of you and play with you until Do-ahjussi comes back.”

The kid silently nods his head and looks at the two hyungs before him. Kyungsoo extends his arms, and Taeoh was quick to reach, letting the other take and carry him.

“Bye, kids.”

“Alright, kids, sit.” Kyungsoo commanded as he stands tall in the foyer in front the three who sat on their hind legs following their omma’s command. “This is Taeoh, and he’s a friend, okay? Behave and get along with him.”

Kyungsoo, carrying the two year old boy squatted down beside Jongin who was watching the three sit down.

“Taeoh, don’t be afraid, okay? They’re nice.” Kyungsoo mutters sweetly, showing to the kid how his three kids can be friendly. He extends a hand, and the three came sniffing on it. “Now, it’s your turn. Come on.”

Taeoh, although a little hesitant, extends his little hand to the three who in turn came sniffing. Jjanggu was a little more excited (as usual) and was licking on the little one’s palm. Taeoh bursts out in fits of giggles that had Jjanggu wagging his tail.

“This is Jjanggu.” Kyungsoo introduced, and the kid answered back with what seemed to be ‘Anggu’, stressing on the last syllable. Kyungsoo then pointed at the white one, “This is Jjangah.”

“Jjangah, hello!” The little kid waves his hand. “And that one,” with Kyungsoo pointing at the eldest poodle beside Jongin, “is Monggu.”

“Can I play with them, hyung?” Taeoh asked as he releases himself down from Kyungsoo’s arms. The elder nodded and stood up, followed by Jongin.

“Taeoh, this is Jongin hyung, okay? If you need anything you call any of us.”

“Okay!”

“Arf! Arf! Arf!” The two hyper kids Jjanggu and Jjangah were circling around little Taeoh who was sitting calmly on the carpet floor, playing with a few toy cars his father had tuck in his bag. Taeoh was giggling every time Jjanggu would jump on Jjangah then will resume playing with his toys again. Kyungsoo was watching intently as the boy played on his own.

“Hyung!” he called onto the hyung who was sitting on the couch. “Can I have water please?”

“Soo! Did you put water on the kids’ bowls?”

“Not yet, Jongin. Go put water on it.” Kyungsoo grunts, standing up to get Taeoh’s sipping cup from his bag. Once he found it, he quickly strode to the kitchen to pour water for the little boy.

Taeoh was quick to follow Kyungsoo and was already behind the elder clinging on his leg when Jongin poured water in the poodles’ bowls. Jongin watched as Kyungsoo supported Taeoh’s hands as he drinks from his cup.

With one whistle from Jongin, the three came running to him and watched beside him their omma wiping little Taeoh’s neck where water has spilled.

Monggu suddenly burrows his head to his paws, yelping. “That’s okay, Monggu. It’ll be just for today.” Jongin assured.

After their quick lunch, Jongin had to run to the University he was working in to get some papers done for the upcoming semester. He had to leave Kyungsoo with the kids and Taeoh who took a nap already.

Much to his surprise when he came back, the house smelled like a public bathroom.

“Kyungsoo!” Jongin screamed, surprised since he knew his boyfriend has OC tendencies and a smelly house is impossible when he’s home.

“I’m here!” The elder screamed back, “in the bathroom!”

Jongin walked in the living room and found puddles of pee, a few more in the kitchen.

“Did the three do that?” Jongin asks as he peeked inside the bathroom where Kyungsoo was giving Taeoh a bubble bath in the tub. Jongin watched as the other played with the little boy who was enjoying blowing on the bubbles.

“I guess so.” Kyungsoo replied as he stood up from beside the tub, scratching his head. “I’ll clean it up-

“Arf! Arf!” It was Jjangah who was barking. Jongin sighed, walking back to the living room where the three kids were playing around. Suddenly, Jjanggu came running to him, splashing his paws from one puddle and left wet marks on the floor as he strode.

“Jjanggu, no!” Jongin screamed, but the poodle went running away, planting his paw prints across the area. In the other side of the room, at the doorway to the kitchen was Monggu, who was sitting beside another puddle.

“Monggu, come here.” Jongin commanded, but Jjanggu was already heading to the elder, pushing Monggu to fall onto the puddle, wetting his ear and his side.

“Janggu! Stop or you’re gonna get it from me!” Jongin, furious, placed both his hands on his waist. In return, Jjanggu came running to this appa and went jumping on his leg, wiping the last of pee onto Jongin’s jeans.

“Okay, what did you three do when I was out?” Jongin murmured to himself as he walked around and checked every corner. A poop there, a ripped sock (Taeoh’s), puddles of pee everywhere, and what the hell - bright colourful scribbles of crayons on the wall of the kitchen.

Disaster, indeed.

“Did you clean it up alr-

“Kyungsoo, the house is a mess and the kids played with pee. Taeoh drew on the wall with crayons, and this house smells like garbage!” Jongin exclaimed, pulling on his hair.

“I told you I’ll clean it up. Gee, don’t go whining on me when I have my hands full!” Kyungsoo screamed back.

“I said okay with babysitting, but not neglecting the kids.” Jongin huffed, frustrated.

Kyungsoo’s eyes widen, flustered. He took one quick breath, thinking of how he can win over the argument. Surely, he neglected the kids for awhile, but he missed babysitting. He knew he was at fault, but he was hoping Jongin would realize that kids like Taeoh make him happy.

“What?” Jongin taunted, impatient for his boyfriend’s reply.

“Fine! I’m sorry! I’ll clean it up and take care of them! You take Taeoh,” he muttered quickly, handing the kid in towel to the taller male. “Dress him up. His clothes are on the bed. Give him his milk and you read him anything until he falls asleep. Appa will be arriving in an hour. I’ll be here taking care of your kids as how you want me to.”

“Arf?” Jjangah yelps from the corner of the couch where she was sitting on. The two other poodles were quietly watching them from the other corner of the room.

“God, we’re not supposed to fight in front of the kids!” Jongin screamed again, panting in frustration. He turned his heel and carried Taeoh who was oblivious to the elders’ affairs to their room. Kyungsoo walked to the kitchen and took his cleaning tools and started mopping the floor.

When he finished mopping the kitchen, he started cleaning up the living room, where the three poodles were sitting quietly in one corner, as if scared that one of the adults would shout at them if they move.

In the room, Jongin and Taeoh were playing chase, with Taeoh still lacking a shirt, and his pyjamas inside out. The little kid came running out the room and went directly to Kyungsoo.

“Hyung! Hyung! Up!” Taeoh muttered, reaching his arms up.

“Go to Jongin hyung, Taeoh.” He weakly replied.

“Jongin hyung!” Taeoh screamed, calling onto the other, running back to the room.

“Jongin! His pyjamas are inside out. Do it right!” Kyungsoo yelled, shaking his head.

After mopping the floor in the living room, Kyungsoo took a bottle of juice from the fridge and sat on the couch to take a break. Taeoh came running again to him, climbing up the couch with much difficulty. Kyungsoo supported Taeoh as he climbs up, and settles him beside him.

“Hyung! Can I drink?” Taeoh sweetly asked. Kyungsoo handed the bottle to the little guy, letting him taste the orange juice. After sipping, Taeoh takes the bottle from Kyungsoo’s hands to his own and slid down the carpet before running back to Jongin in the room. Kyungsoo followed quickly, afraid that the boy will spill juice on the now clean floor. He quietly watched as Taeoh ran to the elder.

“Hyung, you’re tired, right? Drink this! This is tasty!” Taeoh muttered, showing the bottle to Jongin who was sitting quietly at the edge of bed with a book in hand. He was clearly surprised, but took it anyway and drank from it.

“Thank you, Taeoh.” He murmured, handing the bottle back. “Now, give that back to Kyungsoo hyung. Come back here and I’ll read for you, okay?”

“Okay!” He did as he was told, and the two was finally lying on the bed side by side, Jongin reading him a story about a little ballerino, and in no time, Taeoh was already snoring.

Kyungsoo, although ignored by his boyfriend, took his side of the bed and closed his eyes, too, listening to Jongin’s soothing voice as he continued the story.

It was already late evening when Kyungsoo woke up and realized he dozed off. He quickly turned to the side to check on the clock - it says nine thirty. The room was already dark, except for the lamp that was turned on in the bedside.

Realizing that his father should have come three hours ago, he dashed outside to look for Jongin and the little kid Taeoh. He was thinking of what Jongin could’ve done to the kid and was praying that Taeoh is still alive (Is Jongin that cruel, Soo?).

“You’re up?” Jongin murmured with his eyes locked on the television screen.

“Where’s Taeoh? Did Appa-

“Yes, he already took Taeoh back.” Jongin muttered.

“Okay..” Kyungsoo murmured, noticing Jongin’s cold attitude towards him. He slowly approaches him, sitting beside him and watching whatever that was playing on the TV. It was a Pororo marathon. It was Kyungsoo’s favourite show even in his age. Forgetting about his boyfriend’s subtle disappointment, he turned his attention to the screen and watch the little penguin playing with his friends.

“You hungry?” Jongin asked.

Feeling guilty, Kyungsoo finally took the courage to apologize. “Jongin, I’m sorry, okay? I don’t want us fighting over Taeoh. I know I’m at fault here. What can I do to make it better?” He looked at Jongin who was still watching. Suddenly, Jongin speaks up.

“I’m supposed to be the one apologizing, Soo. I should’ve been more considerate. Your appa scolded me for being too harsh on you. He said you love kids more than anything. I should’ve helped you with everything.” The younger replied. Sensing the chance to reconcile with the other, Kyungsoo scooted closer to Jongin who quickly spread his arm to accommodate him.

“I’m sorry, Jongin. Our kids comes first, I should remember that.”

“It’s okay, Soo. Taeoh was a cool kid. You should him invite him back next time and we can take care of him together. Besides, the three are behaving their usual selves with Taeoh. They like him.”

“You think so?”

“Yup.” Jongin replied, finally looking at Kyungsoo. “You think we can have a kid of our own?”

Kyungsoo suddenly choked on his own saliva and coughed, turning red from the lack of oxygen. Jongin was quick to laugh at the other’s reaction. “I’m kidding! I was thinking of asking to you make babies with me and I knew that won’t make sense.” He laughed again.

Kyungsoo, still feeling guilty, frowned and burrowed his face on the crook of Jongin’s neck. “Maybe we can do that, but we won’t make babies though. That seems impossible, but-“

“I swear Kyungsoo, drop the topic or I’ll carry you the room.” Jongin chuckled as he sensed Kyungsoo’s hesitation.

“I want to make it up to you though? I can make it up to the kids tomorrow, but I guess appa comes first?”

At the end of the day, maybe the four actually makes him the happiest, he realized.
