I'm really sorry to hear about your frustrations, Em. I was going crazy there, and I was only there for two weeks. I couldn't imagine being there, by myself, for months and months.
I do have some good news to cheer you up with though. I did read an HP related article, and they are doing the flashback scenes with Snape. I'm not sure if they are doing every one of them, or if it's exactly like it was in the books, but it will be in the movie. :)
ooh, that is good news! I'm really looking forward to the next movie, I've been rewatching the old ones to get reacquainted, but I'd like to reread the books at some point as well.
I hate to be such a downer on this LJ, but I also want to be honest with myself and anyone who reads it. I'm going to be much happier when I finally get to go home.

Thank you! Yes, I got the yen equivalent about $100. I spent a good chunk of it on CDs, but I really ought to look for some lighter clothes for being out and about on my bike. My jeans are way too heavy for this kind of weather.
As far as I know, this is the only time I've been in the newspaper. I got onto the local TV news once here at the kimono party I went to in November, and I was on the local TV news again in Nagano six years ago. My classmates and I had just arrived to do our homestay, but before that we all visited the main shrine in the area. We were in a small enough town where gaijin coming through was big news, apparently. XD
