I ran similar posts both in a community I belong to and here in my journal for the people on my "friends list" to see.
The results:
1 person on my "friends list" commented in my journal. It was a nice comment. Thanks Erik.
16 people whom I don't know IRL commented when I posted it in the community. Not only did they comment, but they seemed to have enjoyed reading what I wrote.
Conclusion:
I will be re-thinking my "friends list".
