Well, I just had a rather unenjoyable day that was only redeemed by the last hour and a half of it. It not so much that I had a BAD day it's just that there are so many other things I'd rather be doing than going to Tel Aviv to be tested on my six-month-old moldy Arabic. Yesterday I looked over most of my vocabulary words from last year in order to try to rejuvinate something, but I felt like such a idiot. I only remembered about 60% of the things I knew in my sleep only six months ago! But I looked over things today on the bus on the way there and I guess the jab yesterday helped because I remembered more. The biggest problem was that even at my peak in highschool, I was never a very fast translater. As a matter of fact, I was downright slow. So that's a bit of a problem when first they put me through 45 minutes of a ohsycotecnic test that completely picks your brain apart and then they expect me to translate four articles with it two hours. Not on your life, babe. The guy in charge did put us at ease a little when he said not to get too nervous if we didn't manage to finish translating all four articles - that they were mainly looking at the quality of the translation. Still though, I don't know if I should be too nervous if I only managed to translate two and a bit... I hope he was telling the truth...
After the test I got the thing I forgot I used to get after every test (comes from not taking tests for sx months...) my eyes go all fuzzy from focusing up close on small print for a long time. So while I'm talking on the phone to my mom on my way to the Azrieli mall I fail entirely to recongnize on of the girls I knew from midrasha last year. Even when she started waving at me. I will try not to make fun of glasses any more (bli neder), my lord, I felt so bloody blind. But eventually it went away which was good. I then spent a very enjoyable hour and a half (and bagel) with Aaron at the Azrieli mall. Yes, that was the redeeming part. I deserve some fun after a day of bus rides and Arabic! Yup, bagels and Aaron. Ok, maybe not in that order, I'll consider it...
G'night people!
