I believe I have had the best birthday ever.
It started yesterday in the evening, as all Hebrew days do, with my finishing my first ever scarf. Yay! It only took me two and a half days and now my sister wants me to make her one too! Yippee! Now I'll still have something to do in classes...
Then just as I was getting my things together to go to dinner Abi and Naomi showed up and startled the heck out of me. After much hugging and commenting on shortened hair and new t-shirts and sleevies I had not seen previously (boohoo...) and eating dinner of course, Ma'ayan, Abi, Naomi and myself walkede up to Ramat Rachel to a lookout where we had a beautiful panoramic view of the lights of most of the new city with the old ciy in the distance. We camped there for a while only leaving after having some chocolate and potato chips and Naomi being made nervous by the actualy very friendly dog hat seemd to take a liking to us. We then marched back and after making a short stop back at midrasha to pick up some water, we walked to Armon Hanatziv - another lookout, this time one of the old city, but closer up. There were lights, there were stars, there were pretty clouds, there were pictures, there was yummies and there was NO RAIN. God is good to me.
When we got back to midrasha, at about midnight, my roommate semi-surprised me (we walked in a bit too early) with a (store bought)cookies and cake and candles, (homemade) chocolatemilk and balloons. I recieved several happy-birthdays and we stayed up rather late eating more chocolate related stuff and going to sleep late very giggly.
In the morning I was greeted by a chorus of "Happy Birthday" by all the girls at breakfast. I went to daf Yomi with Abi and Naomi (go Rav Shuki!) and then I sent them on their merry way off to their seminaryon. The remainder of the day was filled with interesting classes and some birthday calls fro my highschool friends. Ah, what fun. I wanna do the same thing next year.
Go 18!
