AIDEN
Full name: Aiden von Wolken (Kiritani Aiden)
Description: Fairly tall, black hair, dark skin, and dark eyes. He has an easy smile and carries about him a feline grace that lends itself to his limbs. He has a cross scar on his jawline, and a scar/brand on his back right shoulder.
Age: 19
History: Supposedly a member of a branch family of the von Wolkens, a family prominent in both the Empire of Honin as well as the Continent. Well educated and well supported in funds, Aiden's family is like that of most students at the Academy.
However, Aiden von Wolken is really Kiritani Aiden, bastard son of a woman who worked in an establishment run by the shadier side of the von Wolkens. He grew up with the von Wolken children, was educated with them, but at the same time, it was understood that he was the servant, little more than a pampered slave being groomed for a specific job.
Goal: A slave/servant of the organisation/family, Aiden has been sent to kill Mikael. However, over the course of a year, he falls in love - or at the least, develops a deep affection for Mikael and his deepest wish is to protect him. Originally, we see his goal as "friends" - and then we see his goal as "to kill Mikael"
Personality: On the surface, he's very easy going, always smiling, a witty comeback always prepared. He's a people person, enjoys spending time with his friends. For the most part, that's what he's like as a whole. At times, however, he lets his past get to him, and eyes the world with a cynical view, wondering if there's true trust or friendship in the world as well. Even so, his loyalty is strong - especially his loyalty to Mikael.
MIKAEL
Full name: Mikael
Description: Also tall, although shorter than Aiden, Mikael is Aiden's opposite. Pale of skin and hair, his eyes are a light amber with flecks of green-blue. He's delicate looking, pretty almost - Kyomoto Taiga in five, ten years time and hair bleached white like Miura Haruma's in Koizora. He has a tendency to look down, and has a much rougher feeling. He carries a scar that cuts from his neck to across his chest that he usually keeps hidden.
Age: 18
History: Believed to be from lower class, Mikael is in truth the heir to the destroyed Kingdom of Ceres. After his family was destroyed, he was picked up by a foster family who hid his identity - rumours circulated that one of the Ceres children were still alive. To escape, the family moved to Honin. However, on the way there, their (mode of transportation) crashed, and the surviving child Mikael was passed around orphanages and foster homes, until one unscrupulous institute sold him to a brothel. In recent years (2 or so before the start of Kizuna), he was attacked on the streets, and the subsequent fight was witnessed by Abbot, who was impressed by the boy’s skill/talent in both magic and swordplay, and also recognizing Mikael as from Ceres (having seen him as a child…?). Abbot picked him up and brought him to the Academy, to keep an eye on him.
Goal: To kill Hiems. At first, it's to pass, and there's some history going on here - but after the flashback, his goal is to kill Hiems. However, at some point, it becomes to "kill Aiden" - only not really.
Personality: Mikael tends to smother things, whether it be feelings, or his history (which he remembers little of). His anger (and other emotions) escapes in little bursts. Having lived with certain hardships all his life, he finds no problem adapting to them. However, when faced with uncertainties, his first instinct is to run. This changes, and by the end of Kizuna, he confronts problems (like Aiden’s apparent betrayal) straight on.
SAWADA
Full name: Sawada Fuma
Description: Of a height with Aiden, Sawada is handsome, and rich. His smile is more of a sneer. His black hair is tied back in a short ponytail.
Age: 19
History:
Personality: Born to a rich/privileged/high-status family, Fuma’s never wanted for anything. He’s harmfully self-centered, and is a big bully. He’s a bit of a coward, but when it comes to it, he believes in family honour.
TIAN
Full name: Meng Tian
Description: Childish looking, he's also a student of the Academy. Friends with Aiden, he's wary of Mikael. Yun's younger brother. Swordsman. His name is written with the characters for “dream” and “sky”.
Age: 16
History: His grandparents were from Ceres, but both his parents were born in Honin. Despite Tian and Yun’s Ceres heritage, their family had become well enough established for it to not be an issue after the fallout with/obliteration of Ceres.
Personality: Sweet, childish, and innocent. He looks up to his big brother above all, and Aiden right after that.
YUN
Full name: Meng Yun
Description: Tian's older brother. He also has a childish face, though he's taller. Primarily a mage, although considered a genius by many and talented at swordsmanship as well. His name is written with the characters for “dream” and “cloud”.
Age: 18
History: His grandparents were from Ceres, but both his parents were born in Honin. Despite Tian and Yun’s Ceres heritage, their family had become well enough established for it to not be an issue after the fallout with/obliteration of Ceres.
Personality: A little cynical, having seen his ancestral homeland destroyed, yet firmly loyal to Honin. A by-the-rules sort of person, his genius makes him stand out even among the exceptional.
PROFESSOR ABBOT
Full name: Frey Abbot
Description: An old-ish looking man, who appears very scholarly (at times, especially with his glasses). Physically fit.
Age: In his 40s-ish
Goal: ??? [To take over Honin and the former territories of Ceres, but that’s never really stated…He’s willing to take his time.]
Personality: 2-faced, he hides many things from not only enemies, but also his allies.
CAPTAIN
Full name: Kritzen Hiems
Description: Dark brown or black haired, a scar runs down his left cheek. His expression is constantly severe.
Age: Late 20s, early thirties
History: Exceedingly loyal in his duty to Honin. Was an officer assigned to the Ceres rout ten years ago, and was responsible for leading the attack on the castle proper that took out much of the royal family/inhabitants. (Except for Mikael, who his father managed to hide.)
Personality: By the rules, except when it contradicts his faith in his country - at which point duty to Honin comes first at the expense of personal integrity/reputation.
KANGIN
Full name: Kangin
Description: Pleasant faced, it’s very in between. Song Xiao Bo - only not deaf mute.
Age: Early 20s.
History: The son of the man who Mikael’s father trusted to pick up Mikael afterwards. Kangin doesn’t recognize Mikael as the boy who his father brought back one day (and who disappeared a few months later anyways), but he does remember that there was a boy who had the same hair colour as Mikael that lived with them for some time, and was like his little brother.
Personality: He’s kind of weird. He says a lot of old-man things, picked up from his travels and the people he’s met. Easy going, he’s smiling most of the time. He doesn’t appear to have anything on his agenda but to live his life, and take care of the occasional wayfaring kid.
KEMPF
Full name: Kempf von Wolken (Also: Kempf von Regen)
Description:
Age: 19
Goal/History/Personality: Content to remain in the background as one of Sawada’s sidekicks while he watches Mikael and Aiden, reporting on the latter to his family.
