I had a prepaid phone since 2008. I got in November of that year because Skype just wasn't cutting it for reachback capabilities. I work in special operations, so if the SECDEF decides that we need air support in some tiny country that you've never heard of, I need to be able to get on an airplane in, like, 2 hours.
And that's why I got the prepaid in 2008. I put $150 on it and it lasted me until August of 2009. That's 9 months! A regular 450 minute Verizon plan would have cost me $270 instead. Put that on top of my Skype account costing $30 a year, and I was saving $90 every 9 months.. Sweet! $10 a month!..
Well, it's more MANAGEMENT required to keep going to the kiosk and do that. So I have to ask myself - is the pain of dealing with retarded sales personnel worth $10 a month?
As we go through life, we reach certain milestones. Last time I moved, I figured it would be less hassle to BUY boxes instead of begging for them at the super market. I'm at a point in my life where it's just not TIME efficient to beg for boxes. It's just not STRESS efficient to go through that crap and drive around to 3 different super markets and talk to people who look at me as if I want to take their own personal boxes. Now I'm at the milestone where I can afford the extra $10 a month to avoid talking to kiosk mongoloids.
That's scary. I'm getting old. My avatar is still sweet, though.
OH! And I got orders to Cannon AFB in New Mexico. So, that's something. :D
