Complete Useless Revalation Number...A Lot

Holy shit guys!
J.K. Rowling used a literary device!

So it's kind of a lame literary device. I mean, allusion is sort of a cop-out because it doesn't take a lot of effort to plagiarize.

But you know the twin indian chicks Padma and Parvati Patil? Parvati and Padma were the names of the women that Saleem marries in Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children.

I am trying to decide why she would do that though, and there really isn't any reason. Except that Parvati is said to have the powers of "a real witch" in Midnight's Children. But that doesn't explain Padma at all. Actually, it doesn't explain Parvati either. I'm just trying to impose credit where it probably isn't due. Crazy woman just went "Indian names!" and "Maybe someone will notice and think that I am witty and smart!" most likely.

But it's still a literary device. It counts. Damnit.

And I am totally not a pointless human being for noticing that.
