So new anime out there.
I watched Chihayafuru which is about this game called Kurata. Which from what I can tell seems to be a complicated game about memorizing 100 poems. You lay these cards out that have the ends of the poems on them. The begining of the poems are said by a tape or maybe a person. Than they have to grab it first. It looks like this manga is award winning. Maybe I should read it. The art looks what is it called, bishounen....or maybe just shoujoish. Anyways the main character's dream is for her sister to become a model. She is a very straight forward person, honest and one of those people who can not read the air. In all honestly I'm not a fan of these types of animes with what you call a "strong female lead", but I do think that there is something different about her that hasn't been done yet. I can't put my finger on it though.
Phi Brain: Kami no Puzzle, looks intersting. This anime basically gets a C in art. I really do not like art like this at all. Like messy? I duno what it is, but it doesn't agree with me, the girls kinda look lumpy (not fat) but lumpy and the guys look dirty. However though I watched this during lunch so I may have found it more interesting than it was. This guy gets this handheld looking nintendo DS device, anyways it has puzzles, and he gets an invitation from minotaur thing. In the end I felt like this was a rip off of liar game. Its like puzzles vs lies, and instead of the creepy masked guy we get a creepy minotaur masked guy. But in the end its the same premise of using your head to solve puzzles. Either way I think it wasgood, even though it seems like a rip off. Oh and we have this magical item that is probably going to make him the puzzle god (lol). So I correct my statement, it's like a shounen version of liar game.
Maji de Watashi ni Koi Shinasai!! was good. It was a little overwhelming to be introduced to like 30 characters in one episode (that may be a overstatement) but it was quite alot. Anyways it's super fast paced, and all the characters are completely different. I can't wait to see it develop, if it is even gonna develop. Maybe it will be a bunch of episodes of this. Which could be bad or okay. I havent decided. Either way the first episode opens up with every type of female character troupe that has ever been out there. Also we have the strategist type (which is voiced by the same guy who did Izaya) fufu...this might be the only reason why I watched the first episode.
Kimi to Boku started. Lol I like it so far. It is interesting I can not help but feel no matter how great the translations are that there will be some things I won't get because of cultural differences. I've only read like 8 chapters of the manga, and it was hard to get a grasp of since it seemed alot of it was a play on words. I do think that the the twins have to be my favorite, or glasses guy so far.
Baukuman 2 started as well. Hmmmmmm.....I am glad it started but I think that at the same time something was lacking in the episode. I am not sure what this was. It could have definitely been the lack of continuity...or maybe it was simply overshadowed by the fact that penguindrum has been on my mind....thus it paled in comparison.
Natsume Yuujinchou ended, it was cute, I love that show. I feel bad, its been 4 weeks straight of not watching bleach. I should watch it, but I feel like this arc is personally not doing it for me. Although I did catach the Urehara vs Urehara fight (I think they could have made it more epic). Oh well. Personally No6 ending was weird, I basically hated it. I felt like wow I am not sure how you can start so slow, slow, and than in 2 episodes wrap it up....so weird. I saw people comparing it Deadman Wonderland, I guess they are right. However I did not feel dissapointed in Deadman Wonderland though.
