This weekend did not go as planned. Friday I swept and dry mopped everything I could one handed. I ran out of time to wet mop but the house wasn't looking too bad.
Saturday we dove into the office/dinning room conversion, and that's where things fell apart. My sewing/craft table collapse as my husband was moving it. You know its true love when your husband opts to save your sewing machine at the expense of his foot! Fortunately he has tough feet and came out of the accident with just a small scrap and bruise. The table however was destroyed. Which threw the re-organization of the room into the trash seeing as it was to become the new computer desk. 2.5 full length Thomas and Friends movies later the room was mostly done. We had to call it quits or risk the Willipus losing his mind, even for him there is only so much Thomas one can watch in a single morning. Which left all the clutter we'd moved out of the room spread across the rest of the ground floor. 2 boxed of books and bric-a-brac have been added to the outbox. My husbands comic book collection and model collection w/paints have been stored in the basement. I boxed my collection of Photo Life magazines and gave them to my aunt for an art project. And my crafting stashed is getting sorted and stored. 3 recycling bags of useless old paper came out of that room. I've got a whole box of papers to sort and file today before they go out as I'm paranoid some recent mailed got misfiled as garbage.
Sunday I went to my aunt's to load up our new/borrowed dinning room table. My cousin and I get it up from the basement and out to the car to discover that while it fits in the back of her CRV the back hatch doesn't open high enough to let it in. No matter how we turned, twisted or angled the bloody thing. Finally with the help of some neighbours we got it tied to the roof. Fortunately my aunt only live about 8 blocks away from me. By the time I got home with it Jamie had been wailing non-stop for 40 min, Willipus was running laps around the kitchen and my husband was rocking back and forth with the baby looking somewhat zombie like. My aunt tended the baby, who settled down as soon as I was back in the house, while we got the table into the dinning room. Yay table!
The curtains still need to go back up. I'm going to paint the walls this summer. The bookcases were re-stacked hurridly and need to be properly organized. But other than that the room is functional as a dinning room.
Now if only I'd thought to get before and after photos.
