I was going to say I whipped these up but the only thing that got whipped was my nerves. I completely miss judged my time management abilities and sewing like a madwoman. Big thanks goes out to my aunt for babysitting so that I could finish things up.
Bunnies, kitties and bears based of the patterns in
Doudous tous doux. I'm fairly convinced that if I go back and re-read the patterns they will say the whole thing should be done by hand. I machine sewed all the bodies, and wow were those curves hard! I thought initially it was because I'd not sized up the patterns correctly, but even at the right enlargement I couldn't get a single nice curve. Hence the strange mutant shape to most of them. I suppose it just gives them character.
Sock monkeys and bunnies made from a vairety of socks, stuffed with polyfill and adorned wth button eyes. These guys are instant gratification when it comes to crafting. Each one takes about a couple of hours each. A couple of hours of knitting gets me a mitten cuff or the brim of a hat. After this many of the little guys however I'm ready to take a break.
Sadly Yule Fair was a bust. There was a lot of traffic but no one was buying. I think I sold all of 3 critters and traded one. Pink Argyle monkey was adopted by a darling little boy whose parents let him choose his monkey. Surprisingly it was the only one adopted by a child. In the end I find myself with a lot of left over stock. Maybe I'll finally get off my lazy bum and finally set up an online shop. Otherwise I guess I know what everyone is getting for xmas this year.
