I'm so.....
whagagahiyahkyaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhnarutosasukegreatrebornOMFG!!!COSPLAY IN JAPAN IS GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....
*faints*
*coughs*
So ok, now that I expressed my current state of mind (=absolutely drowned in happyness)... I should start from the beginning.
So the comiket is taking place since yesterday - the Comiket that is probably the largest gathering of Animefans worldwide. The main point is to sell/buy Doujinshi - fanmade Comics. But there's also a lot of cosplayers running around and two larger cosplay events taking place right next to the comiket.
Basicly I could say the following about these past two days:
Yesterday was full of important experiences.
Today was full of win.
So yesterday we had decided to be at the Big Sight (convention center where the Comiket takes place) at about 8a.m. which worked pretty well.
MOst unfortunately we kinda went the wrong way, so we ended up in the wrong line and couldn't get back, because there were constantly people walking into one direction. So we decided to wait in the wrong place and actually for about one hour noone from the staff said anything. Then some guy appeared and asked us very politely with many apologies to go back to the very end of the waiting people (like 1km from the Big Sight away).
Of course we did so and ended up waiting until 11a.m. to get into the Halls. Great.
1st thing I learned: take the right way immediately and if you're wrong just try to get back at all costs.
The sun was burning, Ju got a nice tanline (I used my sun protection level 50 which worked great) and it was SO HOT! I swear I never had as much sweat running down my body as yesterday. MOst of the time I had pearls of sweat on my arms just from standing around - not even in the sun! The weather here is just incredibly humid and hot.
So anyway after we got in at 11a.m. we went directly to the East halls looking for Doujinshi. I was pretty much successfull in not buying too much, but got some nice pieces from Reborn, Bleach (the circle Zanzibar was there!!!) and even Violinist of Hameln :DDDDAnd some other stuff I can't remember right now.
Well it took us about three hours to get through these 2 Halls (and we were passing a lot of series really quickly)
Instead of going to to the west halls as well, we decided to take a look at the Cosplay. Just to see how everything works and take some pictures.
Well the last times I was there, the Cosplay Deck was on the roof of the west halls.
Obviously it has been moved to another place. So starting from the roof we had a little odysee.
Next thing learned: NEVER. REALLY NEVER!!! Ask some staff member or officialy looking guys, that wear clothes, telling you 'hey I should be able to help you' in Japan. Honestly, DON'T!
First we asked some guy on an information desk. Who just didn't know where the cosplay-area is and who went to get someone else who might help us.
This guy was followed by a bunch of other staff members, that gave more or less accurate descriptions of how to get to the cosplay area.
In the end(after searching for about 30min) we found some line in which we should wait to enter the cosplay area.
The line consisted of 3.5rows, a single row was about 300m long.
We had to wait for about 1hr until we finally got to the entrance of the cosplay area. Once again it was really humid and hot (even though we were in the halls)
Well the guy who was directing the people just told us to go straight forward. EVEN THOUGH I had clearly asked him if this is the right way for the cosplay area. He said 'hai kochi no michi desu' (yes it is this way) and pointed straight forward.
Well after walking like 100m we noticed that actually we joined all the people who definetely didn't wait in the cosplay-line and where heading for the exit.
We were like WTF?!!!?
RAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean what did this guy think? That we had been waiting in that line 1hour to walk nicely back to the normal exit??!!!?
How fucking stupid can one be?!!!!!!!?
Well anyway, totally pissed off, we headed for the direction where the cosplay should take place. Of course there was no official entrance, but we managed to slip through some little opening into the cosplay area.
Baaaaahhhh
So in the end we still got some pictures of cosplayers. I'll post some later...
But still I kinda felt pitty for these cosplayers. I mean, they had wonderful cosplays... but it was so hot, and they were sweating really much. Even me, in really light everyday clothing felt like melting away.
Still we talked to some cosplayers and got the cards from a group of 'Terra e' Cosplayers who were just incredibly nice <3
After not more than 1hr in the cosplay area we decided to head back for the Youth Hostel. We still needed to print out our own Cards and prepare the Cosplays for today.
Which is what I will need to do again tonight...
So the report for today will come in the next entry XD Sorry, but we really need to get up early~
Just so much: I ended up giving away about 18 cards and received about 20 these past two days.....
oh and today we kinda got raided by a group of like 10 Reborn-Cosplayers who politely asked us for pictures one after another XD And gave us there cards in the end~
aaaah.. today was like SO WONDERFUL!
