It seems the trendy thing to do, I'd actually really like some ties for this one..normally I dont get many/any response when I post new Char ideas...
Seeming: Darkling
Kith: Leechfinger
Court: Winter
Concept: Gentleman thief and guide
Influences: Danny Ocean (Oceans 11), the Marquis de Carabas (Neverwhere), Mr. Wednesday (American Gods), Low-Key Lyesmith (American Gods)
Background: (in progress...)
Soaked in sweat from collar to stockings, the shrouded thief finally knelt down to catch his breath. Inspecting his clothing closely, he sighed at the tears and bloodstains that covered his person and shook his head. You’re in a fine state, Iago, but at least you’re out. The Hedge had been brutal, mind-numbingly painful and agonizingly long…but he was free. At long last he was free. Arcadia was behind him, despite the joy he felt for his freedom, his exhaustion and fear kept him from savouring the moment. After basking in the silence for what seemed an hour, a rustling in the distance charged his body with adrenaline and he scrambled to his feet and broke into a dead run down the empty London street. He was home. After nearly three decades (unbeknownst to him), he was home.
Leather boots echoing on the hard cement, Iago continued his run until his legs could no longer support him. Coming to a near collapse, his fire-y blue eyes searched the streets for a place he could sleep. Sleep, he thought, sleep is what I need…to return to dreams… After only minutes of assessment, his eyes fell upon a small cottage that appeared to’ve been abandoned for the season. Perfect. Using his remaining energy to haul himself from his feet, the clever elf-like creature drifted to the building and made quick work of the lock. Only instants after entering and securing the building, he found himself curled up on a moth-hole-ridden couch in front of a fire. No time to light the fire…just sleep…And there, after what seemed endless months of running and hiding, after what had been an eternity of slavery and cruelty, the Good Thief Iago drifted to sleep.
