Lee on SVU

I feel the need to talk about tonight's SVU and I don't know anyone in real life that watches the show, so I'm doing this instead.

My thoughts...WARNING: Contains spoilers for both )

I felt the same way about wishing that I had some real-life friends who I could have watched the show with. I had no one to call. *pouts*

However, I think that I will have to disagree with ya on a couple things. First off, while I thought Kathy's jokes about Elliot's butt to be funny, I found the episode very annoying. Kathy's in-your-face character Babs was hard for me to watch most of the time. I thought the pyscho girlfriend of the first dead girl was more interesting. I do feel that they wasted B. D, Wong with that very brief appearance even though his observation about how alike all people are regardless of their orientations was a great point that they could have explored more.

I didn't really like the 'questioning' of Olivia's sexual preferences or Babs suggesting that Elliot had a thing for Olivia. Maybe it's my anti-E/O sensibilities, but hearing Olivia saying 'That'll never happen' instead of 'Elliot and I are not interested in each other like that' kinda got under my skin. It's just like when Dicky asked her if she and Elliot had ever had an affair. And, finally, having Babs turn out to be Bi (and a hypocrite) instead of a (pardon the term) straight lesbian was just like many of these later episodes of SVU: A kind of cheap cop-out in the writing or just bad attempts at being edgy. IDK, maybe I was just anxious for it to end so that I could see Lee T. and Chris.

Secondly, while I wish that there could have been more screen time with Lee and Chris and that the episode could have explored Skaggs' background into why he was so crazy and what made him a serial killer in the first place, the time he was onscreen was amazing. Chris and Lee haven't lost their onscreen chemistry with each other at all.

I was reading in the Leeloni comm that they initially wanted Lee in an earlier ep this season but he wasn't available.

I believe the earlier episode was 'Solitary' which was the one where Elliot put himself in solitary confinement to understand why the guy who pushed off the roof did what he did. I hear he was suppose to play that character instead of Skaggs. He would have been awesome in that role, but apparently, he was not available.

I'm hoping that Lee may come back before Chris leaves the show. Maybe I'm just being over-hopeful, but since they really didn't finish the case with Skaggs and Mischa Barton's character ran away, they won't be able to keep Billy Skaggs in jail for attacking her or for those murders and maybe Lee will be back for another round. I can only dream, though.

I can see why you would find "P.C" annoying, and Babs could be hard to take at times, but I still liked it. I do agree with you though that it would have been interesting to explore the psycho girlfriend more as well as the point Haung made.

Maybe it's my anti-E/O sensibilities, but hearing Olivia saying 'That'll never happen' instead of 'Elliot and I are not interested in each other like that' kinda got under my skin. It's just like when Dicky asked her if she and Elliot had ever had an affair.

I'm anti-E/O and I actually liked both of those scenes. Although now you've got me thinking maybe when she says "that'll never happen," she's wishing it would, and I don't like that at all. The thing with Dickie I still like though because I can see Elliot's family being slightly resentful of Olivia, since Elliot spends so much time at work with her. I think in their darker moments, and Dickie was very much in a darker moment, it seems reasonable that elliot's family would feel some insecurity about that. Also I think Dickie was angry and wanted to say something hurtful and knew that would do the trick. That's just me though.

the time he was onscreen was amazing. Chris and Lee haven't lost their onscreen chemistry with each other at all.

I know right! They were beautiful together and I definitely was not disappointed with their scenes.

maybe Lee will be back for another round. I can only dream, though.

I'll be dreaming of this too *g*
