A party...

So yesterday was quite an interesting and fun day.

Theresa and I had planned on going to the beach with the girls (Brit and Brook) for about a week. So I woke up and alerted Tea and asked when she was going to church and she was like 10. (It was 950). I was a little upset/confused why she didnt call me, but I let it go.

Then, it took her forever to get over. Anyways, I got dressed, and I sorta just threw some things on. Figuring, WTF? I am going to the beach with a buncha kids, I dont need to look like anything.

So on our way there, which was in the middle of nowhere sorta, Tea kept getting these calls, and then not saying like specifics or who it was.

We get there, and the phone rings again, and I go who was that, because I could tell it was someone that was there, and shes like Joan, and Im like WTF? and shes like yeah, shes here, and Kathy Anne goes Happy Birthday Joe... and im like huh? So we are walking over to the beach and I realize... Ive been had :)

So I see like a group of 15 people and yep, I had a suprise party.

It was a birthday/graduation/thank you party from a bunch of the WSU people, camp people, and of course the LHWL kids. IT was really a nice thing, and I felt quite embarressed.

Tons of people were there, food, drinks, cards, pizza, desert etc....

We swam, played some fun volley ball, talked, etc... I am quite honored to have the friends that I do. It was really nice, because it was all the different aspects of my life that all sort of came together for one event and that made me happy.

In "Atlas Shrugged" Dagny says that she believes parties are celebrations and only a certain type of people should celebrate things. I think we were allowed yesterday. All of us there yesterday have and do fight hard for some things. The same things Dagny fights for in the book. Brittney and Brook were like examples of that. They have the right to grow up and live wonderful lives in a world that is free and just, and we will continue to fight for that. Whether in business, at camp, in politics, or in our personal lives.

A lot of people said they had a lot of fun, and I like that. Joan planned the thing I guess, and Tea helped a little, but that is even more of a testament of how lucky I am, that friends and my GF and everyone all get along.

Wow, I am blessed... so blessed.

I said this to Joan yesterday, that a person should not be judged by his friends by how MANY friends he has, but instead by the nature and character of his friends. Everyone yesterday could have looked around and seen each other and realized that I was the lucky one to have found all of them and been lucky enough to become their friends.
