Past expiration dates indeed.
Long time no journal, just doing mostly the same shit alla time now, here at home rain or shine trying to sell old books online and not too much else. Its pretty cool overall to just make my money without anyone elses help or hindrance except for the inescapable giant credit card debt its and the fact that its getting far too nice out to sit here any day let alone every day...except today.
How William Shatner Changed the World
Saw this show last night, had my favorite theme of the prophetic and self fulfilling prophetic power of science fiction...it was kinda scary. We now live in the post Star Wars AND the post Star Trek era, the post MATRIX era even, and the hightech future is no longer assumed to be at all benevolent anymore...in fact I believe we've slowly been programmed to expect a dark future, though I dont know why it must be this way...is it...evil alien intervention? the end times alien mind virus invasion?? Or just the crest of the world karmic wave, 1000s of years of evil deeds coming to a head?
I'd hope some geek/fan/genius could tell me exactly how they explain the early 21st century in the official series history. Maybe it would help...
