Its Sunday I should post something in here I guess.
Whats new? 2" more of snow, thats new. This weeks weather forecast= cold dark with a daily growing base of frozen white death. Hate it. I might go visit my Mom in Tuscon and possibly one ex-Portlander over in Los Angeles this January and come back to take some classes in February.
Last night I went to a (ahem)40th birthday party for this local guy who runs the PC repair place I tried to get work from, and it was a sad scene in this dusty V.F.W. in Hadley where only a dozen odd people showed up with tables set for100 and a Grateful Dead cover band scooped out goopy blobs of oldsterness. Budweiser and Miller only at full price at the bar. No food left when we got there. After 15 minutes I was supressing the instinct to bolt with all my might.amberwoodrose ate it up I could hardly get her to leave. Brrrrrr. On my 40th Id personally like to be in Costa Rica or at the Great Pyramids or something. Then Id like a shot of stem cells and a quart of virgins blood please. [Must think Immortalist thoughts, OMMMMMMMM (reaches for the antioxidants and Viagra)....]
Meanwhile back in Mercury RetrogradeLand (which just ended yesterday) I got to CompUSA this week to pick up a sound card, all they had was the barrel bottom generic device for $20 or the top of the line $120 version, so I went cheap and surprise the drivers for this thing are 3 years old...It works but games are crashing the system. Its really time for that new video card, Ive passed the 2 year mark. I discovered that my PC only has a 250W power supply so I can only put a GeForce series 5 in here but the 5500's have become nice and cheap like $50-$90 so ill get one soon, in another year AGP will be obsolete from PCI express anywayand Ill have to get a new PC after that.
