Sephiroth and I had a long talk, but I'm worried I might have said too much. However, I admit that I feel terrible for him. A man with no emotions such as pity or love. How can such a man exist, created or not
( Read more... )
Love... it menas nothing to me Yuna. I would not know about Yazoo.. he claims to be my brother but thus far I know little of him. Jenova.. love... hahaha....Those two words are as far apart from each other as they can get.
Aeris.. she was the last Cetra of our time. Over two thousand years ago the Cetra used to work together on a planet to build it up, to make it correct, then two thousand years ago came the Great Crisis from the Skies known as Jenova. A Virus which destroyed many of the Cetra, some of these hid on the earth and worked whre they were... becomming as they went more and more human.. until they took everything and gave back nothing in return... the others continued to work until they died reaching the Promised land.
Of the true Cetra in my lifetime.. two lived... Ifalna.. and the other her daughter known as Aeris... Of all the humans left, they alone could speak with the "planet" and interpret it's meanings. I learnt to also when I entered the lifestream for the first time.
Jenova.. my Mother... and I... we plan to take back the Promised land, destroy this planet, create a new one. One that humans will not be allowed to enter, for we will not allow it to be tainted again.
Aeris... the last Cetra.. the one who tried to use Holy on me... and who cured the Geostigma... Let her rest in peace now... she needs to remain dead.
And you killed her. You killed the last living Cetra, a breed of people who were most connected with the planet. Sephiroth, don't you see that you are the cause of your own problems? You, who wish no more suffering and to revive the planet or create a new one, killed the only living being who could have helped you. Geostigma? Is that like Sin's toxin? She was a healer then? And Holy... we have Holy... it's a White Mage's art, mastered only by White Mages and Summoners... actually, I've never met another person who could do it. Besides me. Funny... I was supposed to die as well to save the planet. He did it for me...
Yes. I killed her. Her sympathies lay with the humans.. not as she would have liked to believe.. with the planet itself. I can see you do not quite understand my mission. No matter. You will.. Everyone will.
A healer? I believe she was called such.
hm.. we were opposites.. she with the white materia Holy.. me with the Black Materia meteor.
Aeris... many people think of her.. have no fear. Yet her destiny was to die. Just as mine is to live.
She could have helped you, you know. You both could have obtained some sort of agreement where the planet and humans could coincided without suffering. She sounds powerful and your perfect opposite, like you said. Ying and Yang.
She must have been powerful to achieve Holy. I performed it against Yu Yevon. I never performed it again. It's too powerful. As for Lulu, the black mage of my guardian-friends. I don't think she ever performed Meteor... why does that sound familiar, though? Ah, Seymour! That was Seymours power. She, however, could perform Ultima and Flare with all of her other Black Mage powers.
And mine, Sephiroth? Based on what you know about my life and beliefs, am I to destined to die like dear Aeris?
I find it shameful that Aeris' sacrifice would be discussed the way you are now. She knew. She knew and perhaps had hoped, that she would return. But she lives among us and around us. What Sephiroth did was merely what he was meant to.. and what she went through, what she ended up as.. it is all as the Planet would have wanted.
There is no darkness without light. She was the light to the Planet's darkness. It was not for Sephiroth to decide for her, and neither was it for her to decide for Sephiroth. We simply accept what has happened and cherish those who have left us with their strength.
And you are fortunate, to have lived beyond your summoning, Yuna. But do not put down what another did, with her outcome as it was. It was unexpected, unseen, but it has happened the way it did. To question things now is almost offensive to their memory.
I'm sorry if that's what it seemed. I have deep and utmost respect for Lady Aeris. She seemed like a strong and powerful person with an air of holiness. She reminds me of the flowers only seen on the Farplane. Oh, I didn't mean it like the way it migh have sounded. It's just the Farplane flowers are so tragically beautiful.
She lived for the world and its people. She must have been a truly gifted and wonderful person.
Was Lady Aeris close to you as well, Mr. Valentine?
She was like any one of the people around her. Headstrong and determined, quite lively and lost in her own world. Which rather makes me think of you, really, except she wasn't at all meek.
No, Yuna. Aeris did not live for the world and it's people. She was no goddess or deity, she was a human, born and existed as one, with the world and it's people. What was gifted to her, blessed to her by birth, she continued when the time came for her to.
She was a companion, yes. Very few people struck me as she did, and that, in itself, was a unique thing to have during that time.
Forgive me for saying this, but I do believe that humans themselves bring goodness into the world. What you might consider to be a goddess or a deity to me is a beautiful person. Sephiroth mentioned her being in tuned with the planet, but chosing humanity first.
I'm glad she stuck with you, considering not a lot of people do, as you say.
Only one as untainted as you could say that with such brutal honesty. Perhaps there is hope yet. She was.. quite the sweet being. But I believe what happened, happened to the best for her sake. This cruel world is not quite for one such as her.. and in hopes, she is in a place better than here. Along with who she loved..
I take your statement as flattery, Mr. Valentine. I'm sorry if I was brutally honest ^_^ Lady Aeris sounds like a sweet being from how you talk about her, but there was something Sephiroth said that I think applies here. He said: We do not have the right to deem the destiny of others. So, she may have thought it was best, but it's not up to you or me, I guess. Would I be prying if I asked who she loved?
Hm. There is nothing wrong in being such, child. And I am in agreement. There is also nothing we can do to question or judge what was chosen by a person themselves. However.. in Aeris' case.. I would say that she may have known. Perhaps if I am fortunate, I shall hear from her again in my lifetime. But I will not disturb her soul to do so.
That is a story best told another time, Yuna. There is one who loves her even now, or has hopefully moved on.. but a long time ago, from what I understand, she loved a young soldier named Zack. A soldier, who I recall, was in Sephiroth's squadron, if I'm not mistaken.
hm. You are not mistaken Valentine. Zack.. was indeed in my squadron, and did certainly at one point date the Cetra.. although we did not know her by this name at that time.
Zack? I remember you mentioning him Sephiroth. Wasn't he the man you said you may have once loved? I'm confused. You mean Lady Aeris had a different name?
Mr. Valentine, where I come from there is the Farplane that the Guado maintain. Here, we are able to see the images the pyreflies create from our memories. They don't talk back, the dead and departed, but it is comforting.
But you know... there are some people who wouldn't like this place. I know my cousin Rikku never enters. She says "I like to keep my memories inside... memories are nice, but that's all they are." Which is, of course, true.
The most shocking thing about this place? Thinking of someone you thought was dead, but seeing no one appear. That means they are still alive, you know?

Sorry! I'm rambling. Lost in my own memories.
