06: Fortune Cookie

Mar 17, 2006 15:20

I found myself in a place that the inhabitants call Tokyo... I think it's a city. One of them, seeing I was a little hungry, gave me what they called a fortune cookie and told me to break it open.
So, I broke it open and this darling little piece of paper came out, supposedly being my fortune.

Fortune Cookie said:

Beware silver-haired men....

Yes I did, Miss Colette. It was rather good.

However, the fortune part of it was a bit too close to home.

That's good! It's not good to have a cookie you don't enjoy!

Why? Do you know many silver-haired men? The only silver-haired man I know is Kvar, and I already know to beware of him!

It definately isn't.

Yes... I seem to. I'm not too sure how that happened though. Riku, General Sephiroth, Mr. Ansem, and Yazoo are the ones I know and they seem nice enough to say the least... but Kvar? I've never heard of him.

It's good that you know nice silver-haired men! Maybe you can introduce me! :D Kvar was the leader of the Asgard Human Ranch, where my friends and I found out that's where people were being turned into Exspheres! >( He wasn't very nice, so Kratos-san killed him...

Human Ranch? You mean people can... breed and train people there? That's the most inhumane thing I have ever heard.
Turning into Exspheres? Where I come from, we have many spheres, such as dresspheres or record spheres. Everything does something different.
What's an Exsphere though?

Kratos-san? You must respect him to call him that.

No, a Human Ranch is a place where the Desians 'cultivate' - that is, they make the poor souls do backbreaking work and don't feed them enough - humans until they're ready to be turned into Exspheres. Then they kill the poor person, and take the soul from the poor humans! And sometimes, they take a Exsphere without a Key Crest and stick it on a human so they turn into a horrible monster the Desians can use for war! ;___; Isn't that awful?

An Exsphere is something that boosts the power of the human or angel who wears it. But an Exsphere is really, really, really dangerous if you don't have a Key Crest with it, because an Exsphere without a Key Crest will make you very sick, and it'll turn you into a monster.

Yes, he's the father of a good friend of mine! I respect him a lot, even after he betrayed us...

Taking the souls of humans? Riku, the silver-haired boy I talk to, just explained to me what a Heartless is. He said that human souls are taken in order to make the person a powerful being, a monster with the will to become human again.
But in my world, Summoners used aeons. These Aeons were once humans, who gave up their bodies to become fayth and help fight and protect the summoners as aeons. But this... this was supposed to be for good. In retrospect, the religion Yevon wasn't just at all.

Ah, an Exsphere sounds like a Dressphere. We are able to change our physical appearance, such as our clothes, eyes, hair, whathaveyou, to the necessary equipment for fighting. These spheres are the memories of those who have died. But in order to use it, you need a garment grid, otherwise it's useless.

But once... there was a girl named Lenne and I used her sphere to bring her back to her lover, who was trying to destroy us all... A couple over 1000 years old....

Sorry, I'm rambling.

Betrayed? Is he still your enemy?

Oh, so you have different kinds of Exspheres in your world? We only have ones that boost your power in Sylvarant.

Well... Sort of... See, we found out Kratos-san was one of the four Serphim of Cruxis, sent to watch over me, the Chosen of Mana, to make sure I didn't die along the way. The four Serphim work under Mithos Yggdrasial, the leader of Cruxis, who's also the leader of those Desian people I mentioned. Kratos-san helped us by spying on Mithos, so he's really not our enemy, but Lloyd still considers him one, so.... ;___;

It's all sorts of fun trying on different dresspheres. We have to be careful though, but once you get the hang of it, it's really powerful.

Lloyd? is that the boy whose father is Kratos? Hm... I know of a boy who hated his father as well....

And you speak of angels. How exciting! Angels live on your world then?

Yes, Kratos-san is Lloyd's father. The only reason Lloyd dislikes Kratos-san is because... Well... Kratos-san killed Lloyd's mother. But that was the only real way, because she'd already been turned into a monster by her Exsphere!

No, Angels live in Derris-Kharlan. But Derris-Kharlan is accesible from the Tower of Salvation! .. I don't think you'd really want to go there now... My friends and I kind of... wrecked it. ;

I'm an angel, too! :D *wings pop out of her back* See, see!?

Funny....the person I talk about hated his father because he left his mother, or so he believed. He was really stranded in Spira, away from the dream...Zanarkand. He came from...an Other World. His mother died from grief at the fact that his mother was gone.

Summoners went to Zanarkand to defeat Sin...only the strongest survived to get there and then... they died to save everyone and bring about The Calm. It sounds like your Derris-Kharlan a bit. Zanarkand is a bit...haha..wrecked, as you say, as well.

You are! Wow, that's so cool. You make a cute little angel.

Thank you! :D

The Age of the Summoners is over, for now. If we are needed, we will have to bear arms again and fight. But we are at peace. The Eternal Calm shifted a bit, but now it continues.

You're welcome, little angel.
