Travel
I have a sister who lives in the UK. My Mother wants to visit one last time before her passport expires who needs to have someone travel with her. So I am going to England to visit my sister and meet my grandniece for the first time. The bonus to this is I am also going to Paris for a few days. The emails I sent to my friends kept bouncing but they had given me their phone numbers so I phoned them this morning. Yes the invitation to stay with them is still in effect.
My sister and I had talked about going over to France as I said the one thing I wanted to do was see Monet's Garden. However my Mom broke her hip in November and is not up to public transportation which is what my sister and her husband use when they go to Paris. So I'm going on my own to a country where I don't speak the language. I have about six words in French.
I hope I will get along with my sister. We are staying 3 weeks and I have not spent that much time with her since before I got married. My youngest sister who lives in the Phoenix area and I get along very well. We spent three weeks together taking care of Mother after she broke her hip plus drove from Portland to Phoenix. Travel is a good way to find out if you get along with someone.
I decided to have the heating/cooling system checked before I leave as well as the reverse osmosis/filtering system before I leave. Both jobs needed parts so I had to pay more than the service call. The worst part is I also had to have a plumber come in to take care of a blocked line from the kitchen sink. The pipe is so small and has so many bends he could not run a snake through so had to resort to sulfuric acid. I have to have the windows open to help air out the place and of course it is the coldest night this month. The house was 61 this morning and will get colder tonight. I have not turned on the heat as it would also just go out the windows so have added layers of clothing to be able to stay in the house but my feet are cold. They put in more acid this afternoon so I will have to have the windows open tonight also. It's supposed to get down to 49 tonight.
Then the owner of the mobile home park phoned to say they are resurfacing the storage lot and repairing a crack and can I please move my motorhome. I have someone who moved it the last time and he is willing to do it again. I sure hope it starts as no matter what I'm going on my trip.
