Rearranging
The trip to the x-ray lab did not happen Friday. wayfinder38 was not up to getting up and going out. He is now eating some food but very little at any one time. Often he will just have a bottle of Boost or Ensure. He is loosing weight.
Thanks to my sister I managed to run a few errands this weekend. I wanted a new pair of Birkenstocks and they were on sale for 20% off. Saturday I went shopping and found a pair I liked. Then on to Walmart where I bought a couple of six packs of Boost and Ensure.
Then to Costco where I bought a new BlueTooth ear piece as my old one won't take a charge any more. I did not buy PhotoShop Elements as it was for PC's only. My copy on the Mac is seriously old. I would love a new computer but really cannot buy one at this time. I am thinking about a iMac instead of a laptop. Meanwhile I bought a new external hard drive and i will move most of my iTunes downloads and photo's to that and free up some room on my iBook plus back up my hard drive more often. I managed to do all the errands in just over two hours. But I forgot to pick up the prescriptions.
Now wayfinder38 and I are on our own here. Today I moved my laptop into the bedroom and we are sitting in bed watching TV. He has stayed awake several hours this afternoon. I thought it did not make sense for me to be in the living room while he is alone here in the bedroom. When he is sleeping I will probably spend time in the living room. I think I will move one of the office chairs in here also. I sit next to the bed when giving him his medications and meals and this takes hours. I need a more comfortable chair.
I know most people in our situation have a hospital bed put into the living room but since we have an electric bed this works for us. We may have to go the hospital bed route when he is no longer able to stand.
If he does as well tomorrow as he is today than he says he would be able to go for the x-ray. Then his oncology RN and I will talk again on Tuesday to decide if he can stand one more transfusion. I expect to spend most of my time here at the house from now on. I will be able to go to the grocery store when the health aide is here for an hour.
