(no subject)
So I went to the dentist for my first of about a million appointments to get my teeth fixed properly. I went to a different dentist this time, one closer to my home. He was soooooooo much nicer than the other one, I really liked him. He didn't treat me like I was scum, talked me through everything that they were going to do and was really nice to me because he could see that I was obviously really anxious (given me almost pathological fear of dentists!).
So today I had my x-rays and descaling done, plus the first of my sealing. My teeth feel pretty weird at the moment, I keep prodding them with my tongue because it's a novelty. And he talked to me more about the problems with my teeth - I don't have enamel on the tops, which is the cause of the strange white lines on the tops of my front teeth. He started me on a fluoride treatment (instead of doing what the other dentist suggested, which was drill it all out, replace it with fillings then seal it), because he wants to see if I'll regenerate the enamel myself. I'm pretty happy with that, because I think the fluoride treatment I started a couple of weeks ago is actually making a difference, so if I can avoid the crazy drilling-treatment that'd be fantastic.
Anyway, so far I've spent a fair amount of money on my teeth but I think it's money well spent. I filed my tax return on Saturday too, and I was really happy with how much I'm getting back. I'm going to pay off my credit cards (whoo! debt free!) and then put the remainder in a high interest savings account until the end of the year. Hopefully I'll actually stick to my savings plan this time!
I also saw Cherise today - it was a bit weird going to meet her, I have to admit I had a few "omg is she actually going to meet me or is this a big set up?" thoughts, but then I got to Southbank and she was there. It was crazy, she looked exactly the same except older. I was really close friends with her when I was about 13-14, but then we had a falling out and never really were close again in high school. I'm really glad we got back in contact though, we just wandered around the city a bit, had lunch, I introduced her Dreamy Doughnuts and we caught up on everything. I had a good time, I didn't realise how long it'd been until I realised there were heaps of people around - obviously knock off time... LOL.
Anyway, that's it for me. I'm gonna go do my learning objective for the week - fun :-P
