(no subject)
I have taken today off work and already at 10.11am I feel relaxed and positive...admittedly i stil resemble a plague victim but more importantly I actually feel CREATIVE.
so today I shall draw. I have so many thing and projects I need to complete and begin. I am looking forward to re-working a number of older portfolio pieces in my line and watercolour style. I do like painting in oils and acrylics but I think that it is important to have a portfolio that focuses on one style. When you are starting out you need to convey and strong sense of what your art is about and if you have an oil painting here, a watercolour there it's less unified and I would argue less memorable. Plus I don't want to be comissioned to do oil paintings...it's too time consuming. I could turn out perhaps three line and watercolour pieces int he time it takes to do one oil painting. I will save the paiting for personal pieces and special commissions i think.
hah - that's proviing I get any commissions which wont happen until I do some promotion or find an agent.
I'm unsure about getting an agent...I don't know if the plus sides will outweight the drawbacks. I think I need to ask some advice.
