Sorry for not updating for a long time. I've just been so very, very busy! This past week has been hell, what with massive rehearsals, massive papers due, massive tests and a smidgeon of drama (at least on my panicky part). We won't go into that - I've already spazzed to quite a few of you already, I think! :-) But the stress is mostly over now. Just one more concert up in Minnesota, an exam on Monday, and a project due Tuesday, then I'm home free! At least until after Easter Break.
The orchestra concert (one in a series of two) was tonight, and it went pretty well. It was hot as blazes in the CFL, but somehow the crazy, panting, sweaty, chaos of it all makes the atmosphere more... complete for me. Silly, I know... but that sort of experience is really common amongst my memories.
I do really enjoy playing with the choirs here - they can sing! Good stuff. I couldn't help but have some serious Christmas at Luther flashbacks during the performance, since we haven't really played a concert with the choir since then and there were a couple pieces that saw the stage at both performances. The flashbacks were both a good and bad thing. Good, because it means I was enjoying both immensely; bad because although this concert was AWESOME... it didn't hold a candle (hahaha, get it? Candle? Christmas at Luther? Like in Silent Night? ... okay forget it) to Christmas at Luther for a variety of reasons, and it stirred up some unneeded nostalgia.
And (on a random note) I really hate the chairs in the CFL. Thank goodness I have Nicole, trained in massaging thanks to her dance class, willing to lend a hand. OUCH. :-P
Anyways.
*big sigh*
The week is OVER! It feels so good to have all those papers and tests complete and done with. You have no idea!
