Out with the old, in with the new.

2009 has started off pretty well. Mark and I ended 2008 on a high note. We went to Liquid Ginger for lunch. I had spicy creamy shrimp, it was breaded and glazed in the spicy mayo sauce they use for sushi, and Mark had lime crispy tilapia. So yummy! Then we went to Maude's for coffee and dessert. I had a "John Lennon" which is a raspberry lemon bundt cake, and Mark had chocolate cheesecake with chocolate syrup and coconut. Then we strolled around the Sun Center, and I bought the book, A Man, A Can, A Plan, thinking it was going to be for Mark, but the recipes seem really easy, and I think they will help us eat at home more. I can easily modify most of the recipes to meet my (pseudo)vegetarian inclinations. Once Mark gets home from work, we will go to the store to get some ingredients. I already have a lot of them in the cupboard, but need a couple things.

I actually stayed up until midnight on New Year's eve for once, but mostly because I was scouring amazon.com for camping gear. I decided I want to get this tent with my Christmas money, so we can go camping. I had to leave my tent in Oregon because there wasn't room in the car for it when we moved. I am planning on us going to Silver River, Manatee Springs, or Paynes Prairie State Park over our anniversary vacation in February (in addition to staying at the haunted bed and breakfast).

I didn't sleep very well, but it's ok, since I was off from work today, I was able to take a LONG nap. I just had a bowl of broccoli cheese soup, am contemplating a cup of hot tea, and reading Picture Yourself Ghost Hunting, which was a Christmas gift from Jordan and Kathy. (I am playing a ghost hunter in our new World of Darkness campaign, and I have a personal interest in the subject.)

I hope your New Year is starting off as well as mine! Cheers!
