TM Response #182 - You've just won an award! What would it be and why?

Looking through her new yearbook, Aelita still couldn't believe that Kadic still voted for who was the best what or most likely to do what or be what. It was a tradition that had gone out in most high schools around the same time as bell bottoms and platform shoes.

Of course, she'd thought the same thing ten years ago the first time she'd attended Kadic.

Aelita giggled as she read the captions under her friends' pictures. Jeremie, naturally, had been voted "Most Likely to Win the Nobel Prize". Odd's caption, "Most Likely to Remain a Bachelor" had actually made her fall over laughing (Aelita had been sitting cross-legged on her bed). Sissi's award of "Most Likely to Win Miss Universe" merited an eyeroll from the pink-haired girl. Ulrich had been voted "Most Likely to Be an Action Hero"...no argument from Aelita there.

The corner of her mouth quirked when she read what was printed under her own picture: "Best Mix Master". It was just as good as being voted "Best Pianist" back in 1993, when she had attended Kadic as Aelita Hopper.

Flipping to the page that had William Dunbar's picture on it, her throat constricted at the black border and the caption that read: "Most Missed". She found it ironic that she, too, had earned that award as Aelita Hopper. After regaining her memories Aelita had gone to the library looking through old Kadic yearbooks, mainly out of sheer curiousity to see if she'd gotten in the year she had disappeared. It still bothered her a little to see the same sentiment, "Most Missed", underneath not only her picture but her father's as well.

If she had her choice, Aelita would take being "Best Mix Master" over "Most Missed" any day.
