TM Response #322 - Chinese Zodiac

Feb 19, 2010 00:48

As part of our study of the Chinese New Year in geography class our professor had us research what our Chinese zodiac animal was and write a short essay on whether or not we agreed with it. According to the background that Jeremie created for me I was born in 1995, the Year of the Boar. But then I went back and looked up what my Chinese zodiac animal was for the year I was actually born: 1982, the Year of the Dog.

What I found interesting was that I'm not one nor the other, but bits and pieces of both. Dog Year people are described as being very stubborn, and I'll admit that I certainly can be that at times. On the other hand it's also said that Dog Year people find fault with things, which is a trait that just isn't me. I don't try to look for the bad in things (unless it's glaringly obvious); I'd rather focus on the good. And as for Dog Year people being eccentric...I have nothing to say about that.

Boar Year people, on the other hand, are known for studying a lot and being very knowledgeable. Any student at Kadic will tell you that that describes both Jeremie and I to a 'T'! I also admit to having the quick temper Boar Year people are said to possess, and I hate arguing especially with my friends. But I'm not too sure how accurate that description is when it comes to honesty. After all, I'm lying to almost the entire student body and the entire staff about who I really am, aren't I?

Then again, being good at keeping secrets is supposed to be a trait of Dog Year people...
