Durability

Driving through my hometown on the way back to my apartment, I saw my grandparents taking one of their night walks together, holding hands. Next year, it'll be their sixty-fifth anniversary, which to me is an incomprehensible amount of time to live (three and a quarter times my life so far), let alone to be married.

Wow. Again I am astounded at the magnitude of life experiences yet to come, the choices possible, and the general insignificance of it all in the grand scheme. At the same time, it's rather freeing to know everything I do is probably insignificant - after all, in that case, if I screw up, it doesn't matter, so I shouldn't worry.
