White Collar 3.06: "Scott Free"

Jul 18, 2011 20:29

I was going to write up an episode reaction to last week's White Collar , mostly in frustration with some really idiotic writing. I didn't feel like investing the time to explain what went wrong with the episode.

Now I find that china-shop has done it far, far better than I ever could!
Part 1 of the review is an epilogue fic that gets at what drove me crazy. SO RIGHT. (If you really enjoyed the episode and don't see any problem, or if you don't wish to stare the logic directly in the face, don't read it.)
Part 2 is a more straightforward review. I would like to second heartily:
Sara, points A, B, E, and F. I like Sara, but I liked her more before she was in this relationship with Neal. Now I think the writers don't know what to do with her. Why should she not want to eat the breakfast Neal has made? She should just snipe back at Peter! Where's her backbone?
Neal: especially E-all of it. Character continuity between episodes has been very poor this season for Neal (and Sara).
Most of the of the points about Scott himself, the episode plot, and the season arc as played out in this episode.

I was sorely disappointed in "Scott Free." Didn't we already do the Neal Caffrey imitators anyway?
