Title: Gateway Drug
Fandom: Stargate SG-1
Characters: Daniel Jackson
Prompt: #34, Not Enough
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG (drug use)
Author's Notes: Set in early series. Also, marijuana is known as the gateway drug.

Daniel lay sprawled on his back in the tall grass, dreamily munching on a ration bar. Somewhere in the hazy woods, he could hear Jack's warbling rendition of "If I Only Had a Brain," weaving to and fro between the trees. Sam was snoring somewhere nearby, her combat boots tossed haphazardly on the shore of the pond, her P90 at the bottom of the pond. Teal'c's demented, joyful "Mwahahahaa" seemed to come from everywhere at once.

Dull pain made Daniel realize he was gnawing on his own fingers, and he was still hungry. Clearly one ration bar was not enough.

Title: Dead People
Fandom: Stargate SG-1
Characters: Daniel Jackson
Prompt: #35, Sixth Sense
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Author's Notes: Set after "Meridian."

Not having a body is kind of like being in a sensory deprivation chamber, he decides. Not having eyes puts a crimp in seeing, not having ears makes it really hard to hear, to say nothing of taste, smell, and touch. At first he feels alone, with no one but the faceless presence of Oma around him, but she teaches him how to sense the Others. He calls it his Sixth Sense, because now he sees dead people, but Oma doesn't quite understand. Her energy shimmers with indulgent amusement, and he can't help but feel like she's just humoring him.

Title: Coma
Fandom: Stargate SG-1
Characters: Daniel Jackson
Prompt: #36, Smell
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Author's Notes: Set sometime before season six.

It's the smell that you notice first. The burn of antiseptic, an occasional whiff of blood or bodily fluids, the faint trace of lavender perfume as Janet does her rounds. The monitors display your heartbeat, blood pressure, brainwaves, and everything except what you had for breakfast, but there's something reassuring about those slender fingers on your pulse point and numbers spoken in a whisper. Sometimes she smoothes down your hair and trails a hand over your cheek, quietly tells you to wake up, and you want to but you just can't. She steps away, but you know she'll be back.

Title: Mute
Fandom: Stargate SG-1
Characters: Daniel Jackson
Prompt: #37, Sound
Word Count: 100
Rating: PG
Author's Notes: Set during "One False Step."

It was rather strange to be surrounded by such quiet people. Jack couldn't see anything past the fact that they were small, bald, and naked, but it was the lack of sound that really threw Daniel off. No spoken or written language, and even pantomime was a bust (he was glad his team hadn't seen him running around with his arms out like an airplane, complete with sound effects, because then they would've teased him forever). The face painting was weird, but at least the aliens were accepting of him, even if they had no idea what he was saying.

Title: Hands Off
Fandom: Stargate SG-1
Characters: Daniel Jackson
Prompt: #38, Touch
Word Count: 100
Rating: G
Author's Notes: Set around season two.

"Don't touch, Daniel."

"Look with your eyes, not with your hands."

"Dammit Daniel, I said don't touch it."

Daniel glared at Jack in annoyance as once again, his hand was intercepted before it could touch the alien wall. "Jack, I've been doing this for years. I know what I'm doing."

"Suit yourself." Jack leaned up against a column to watch him work. The minute his back touched the marble, there was a click and a bright flash. The room plummeted into darkness.

"Oops."

Daniel clicked on his flashlight. "Jack, what did I tell you?"

Jack looked sheepish. "Don't touch anything?"
