"I'll take this one."
I wanted to rev my engine in joy at being picked. Finally, a responsible-looking human had come to purchase me! I plumped up my soft leather seats as the human opened my door, and he made an appreciative noise as he settled inside my interior.
Stars, were all humans this soft and fragile? What a terrible thing it must be, to be made of mostly water instead of strong steel. It's a pity that human evolution didn't allow for a chassis, preferring a weaker internal structure instead. I would need to take extra care to protect passengers, indeed.
And yet, this human seemed to have a good grasp of the need for safety. With good solid asphalt under my tires and the wind rushing through my grill, my buyer guided me to my new home: a rather spacious garage, cluttered with bits and pieces of unidentifiable constructs, with a nice big clear area just for me.
The human locked me and pocketed the keys, then reached out to touch my stainless steel hood. "My friend, you are going to be part of something truly special," he said to me, and patted my shell fondly.
Something special?
I pondered this after the human left, locking the garage securely behind him. At first, my goal had been merely to blend in, observe the humans, then seek out my brethren. But now, I wasn't so sure. There was something about this human, something that intrigued me more than any other human had. Something big. Something important.
Surely Optimus Prime would forgive the delay.
