on the magic of script
I am curious to learn about various magical beliefs in relation to text and tattoos (both separately and together). It's fairly easy to find at least cursory information on tattoo traditions, but I'm finding it especially difficult to find information about magical text, perhaps because I just don't know what search terms to use. This is mostly material to be used in a fictional context, but I want the fiction to have some basis in the actual beliefs of various cultures.
There are too many mystics, writers, and people with tattoos on the list not to have any idea about these things, so can anyone point me to some helpful resources?
