For real blood, for real knives, for real cries...
One of the albums I got for xmas was Okkervil River - Black Sheep Boy (thanks lindsey + aunt jo jo :D) and if I had gotten it sooner, it def. would've made my top albums list. it just gets better and better each time I listen. even their bio cracked me the hell up (hee! Handi Snacks!). also, if I had known of them sooner, I could've seen them (well, if I was on the up and up) since they were here in November. I didn't see it on the site I check for upcoming shows though.
Anyhow, they remind me of a cross between the singer from Cursive (Tim? gah.. I always forget his name) and Knife in the Water's ominous gothic country sound. I like any band that reminds me of Knife in the Water.. they always get tops with me ;D [speaking of them, they added me on myspace.. check them out- http://www.myspace.com/knifeinthewater. The Guest said we could stay with him at some point in January, so perhaps I'll get to see the Austin date listed... maybe... oh mayyn I'd love to see them live above everyone in the entire universe!)

My next purchase will have to be the Appendix EP since I hear it's just as good as this.. hah.

...oh, and I still don't have a turntable. dad has it on backorder, but I'm a bit concerned with his source, so we'll see. I know I'll get one someday this century though.. and for that, I cannot wait.
