I'm a mac user, too now, but of course, I understand the BSOD.... since I was a pc user for so long and still sometimes use the pc late at night if there isn't a connection on my side of the house (mom has to sleep sometimes :\).
Weirdly the pc hardly gets it though.. it gets the freeze o' death... or something.
Now, on the mac, I sometimes experience the... pinwheel of death ;D
Actually, I’ve only gotten the blue screen a couple times-at work, of course, the only place I ever use Windows.
As for the PWOD, you know you can force quit? Just hit Control-Command-Escape, or Control-click (or right-click if you have a two-button mouse) on the application icon in the Dock and choose Force Quit. Unlike Windows or the Classic Mac OS, you do not need to restart.
Actually I do know. I have force quit a few dozen times. I just wait a bit in case it's a pinwheel for just a minute then move on sorts. ahah.
I just restart if something is up with my airport lately... I've noticed sometimes the network stops responding and it takes a restart to get the noise to stop.
