That Meme That Never Dies (since it's addicting)

Aug 23, 2005 04:25

JC (jmlease) tagged me, so here I go! (yeah, I should just do this meme every month.. har... practically.. last time was the end of June). this time I'm using YSI links.

Name six songs that you are currently digging. It doesn't matter what
genre they are from, whether they have words, or even if they're any
good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post
these instructions. Then list the six artists and the songs in your
LiveJournal. Last but not least, tag six other people to see what
they're listening to.

1. Matsuri - No More Sorry (MBV cover)
I like the whispered female vocals and the guy just coming in and saying the title. it's very ominous. the washing synth fadeout at the end is pretty great, too.

2. Ultramarine - Discovery
It's very odd yet very cool all the same. the best parts are the beginning where the man is all talking matter of factly over that interesting beat then the violin part. I like violins a lot. oh and yes, it's supposed to end like that.. it's one of those pesky albums that end into the next song.

3. Mount Eerie - Stop Singing
This is I think one of the songs I'll put on Yoga Mix volume II which I promised mom. heh.
This is the best line to me (they always tend to be at the end.. I think that happens a lot with his songs... they tend to end like they want to go on, but they.... stop): "I will sing through every single song about the spaces left when we stop singing... and I will sing this with longing"

4. Wilco - Venus Stop The Train
I found these Wilco demos in someone's folder on soulseek on Saturday. it was for Yankee Hotel Foxtrot. I found this one the prettiest... it's so melancholy... the piano and the storm crackling at the beginning of the track. "I keep my distance 'cause she falls in love with everyone..."

5. Devendra Banhart - Little Boys
I find this song sort've amusing... I mean, it sounds rather normal till the middle when it gets into..... "I see so many little boys I want to marry!" say wha??

6. Jan Jelinek avec The Exposures - Collage of Digital Passion
This song I find I repeat a lot. it's basically a loop of sorts on an old record type sound; the beginning voice sounds like barry white (hah). it'd do nicely for an 'action' moment...

I tag:

Yes, I'm tagging people this time since someone wanted to be tagged; feel free not to do it if you don't want to!
